I bout this for my wife for Christmas and the fact that I am writing this before Christmas means she didn't wait to open it. I bought it for her as she has been working long hours recently and she was super excited for this. She says that its been really helping her get through her long shifts at work. It definitely took her a bit to get it all set up and ready to go. But now that it is, it is super easy to use! I would recommend looking up videos on how get a good blend going to get a good smooth taste. I have even used it and I really like it! I bought this to my previous Saeco machine that cost way more, and which I had to repair many times until the parts were no longer available. I was specifically looking for the ability to do both ground coffee and beans, and that feature works as I had hoped. The machine is affordable, well designed, easy to use, easy to clean, and makes great tasting coffee. When I read some of the one-star reviews I had a few doubts, but all I can say now is that there's one in every crowd. I also like that the machine is compact and attractive on the kitchen counter.     • Not much steam power

The Magnifica steaming is under powered compared to what I was used to using. So I still hand steam with my Capsule Machine and use the Magnifica to make espresso. I can steam with the Magnifica but it takes longer and is anemic. Also I can get hot water faster out of the capsule machine for water downed espressos with half and half added which is what we drink most of the time. So if the Magnifica is all we had it would work but the hot water/steaming side needs improvement. I am happy I am not buying capsules any more and the coffee out of the Magnifica is superior to the capsule machine. ... show more

We purchased this machine to replace a gaggia machine that would not stop leaking. This machine makes great coffee and never gives us a problem

    • Not reliable espresso machine.
Too many variables to adjust and it stopped functioning after three weeks of use. Delonghi was not at all helpful in trying to resolve the problem and the machine was returned of a full refund.

    • Coffee grinder broke after just 2 weeks of normal use
As said in the title, the coffee grinder stopped working after just two weeks of normal use, 3-4 servings per day. Pretty dissapointing for the cost and good reviews of this machine. Hoping it is just a defective unit and I can replace it soon!
