OK, this is EXPENSIVE. But it does everything for you. What don't I like? It constantly cleans itself. When you turn it on, it cleans. When you turn it off it cleans. You HAVE TO have an extra cup just for the cleaning process. It is not a big hassle, but rather a small one. I love how you just take the milk canister and keep it in fridge. REALLY nice! Frothing works well with skim or whole milk - though they tell you to use skim. You can make all sorts of changes when setting up. We got a bad filter initially, call customer service, and had a new one a day later! Overall, a really nice machine. I would purchase again based on what I know so far. Makes a great cup of coffee, latte, etc. ... show more

I previously owned a Philips Xelsis. It was great but a lot of work to maintain, and I didn't want another machine that I had to take apart to clean. I tried the Jura E-8. It seemed fine but reminded me of the nespresso coffees. I may have kept it but it came scratched. I then tried the Jura Z-10 but it wouldn't foam plant-based milks, and still tasted more like nespresso coffees. In all fairness, the problem may have been in the beans I used. THE GOOD: The Delonghi Eletta has excellent coffee, many coffee settings, and the plant-based milk foams well. I am VERY happy with it. I use it every day for regular coffee, Americano, or Long coffee. I use it every few days for lattes. THE NOT AS GOOD: I wish it came in stainless or black, but right now it's just in the lighter color. I decided taste is better than looks. It still looks great though! It blends in well and doesn't scream "look at me." I still have to take it apart to clean. And taste is worth the extra effort of taking it apart to clean it. It's actually pretty easy to clean and the beauty is I don't have to clean the milk container until the milk is gone because I can store it in the refrigerator. Rarely post a review, but in this case I had to. This machine is "AWESOME." It's pricy but you do get what you pay for. Super easy to use. I thought it was going be complicated but the machine literally tells you what to do. I suggest watching some of the videos out there about the machine. Also it's very easy to clean and maintain. Much better than machines with pods. They make the machine affordable but you spend a fortune on pods. Or there are other machines similar to this but they can be a pain to use and maintain. Finally, it makes great coffee. No more trips Starbucks. ... show more

    • Perfect for hot drinks and better then the Dinamica PLus
I have had a Dinamica Plus for almost a year and have been overall happy with it with the exception of the latte crema system only being able to come out cold. I bought the Eletta Explore solely for the ability to have the option of hot or cold which works well. The Dinamica Plus does have True Brew over ice and the app connectivity where as the Eletta Explore ECAM45055S does not. It does have more menu options, a travel drink size option and the touch screen is more attractive on the Eletta. You have more user profiles to customize. There is a newer updated model that looks the same, but has the app connectivity and True Brew over ice with some more drink menu options. I have not been able to figure out if there are any other big differences between the 2. Contacting De'Longhi customer service to see if they could tell me went nowhere. I went with the ECAM45055S as I don't do cold drinks so the True Brew over ice option is useless for me. The updated ECAM45086S model does cost a good $200 more, but if you do drink both hot and cold drinks then I would honestly opt for that one for the True Brew over ice option. One thing I did notice is if you order from Amazon a travel mug is included. The Eletta Explore is more user friendly vs the Dinamica Plus especially when it comes to guests. I don't see any difference as far as taste goes as both use the same internal parts. The Dinamica Plus is missing Americano, but does have coffee as an option. The Eletta Explore is better just for the added options in my opinion. If you were like me I would opt for the Eletta Explore if you want the hot and cold latte creme system. If you want the True Brew over ice go with the updated model or the Dinamica Plus. ... show more
