  • Best out of all of them
I previously owned a Philips Xelsis. It was great but a lot of work to maintain, and I didn't want another machine that I had to take apart to clean. I tried the Jura E-8. It seemed fine but reminded me of the nespresso coffees. I may have kept it but it came scratched. I then tried the Jura Z-10 but it wouldn't foam plant-based milks, and still tasted more like nespresso coffees. In all fairness, the problem may have been in the beans I used. THE GOOD: The Delonghi Eletta has excellent coffee, many coffee settings, and the plant-based milk foams well. I am VERY happy with it. I use it every day for regular coffee, Americano, or Long coffee. I use it every few days for lattes. THE NOT AS GOOD: I wish it came in stainless or black, but right now it's just in the lighter color. I decided taste is better than looks. It still looks great though! It blends in well and doesn't scream "look at me." I still have to take it apart to clean. And taste is worth the extra effort of taking it apart to clean it. It's actually pretty easy to clean and the beauty is I don't have to clean the milk container until the milk is gone because I can store it in the refrigerator. BOTTOM LINE: I love this machine. ... show more

  • Awesome
OK, this is EXPENSIVE. But it does everything for you. What don't I like? It constantly cleans itself. When you turn it on, it cleans. When you turn it off it cleans. You HAVE TO have an extra cup just for the cleaning process. It is not a big hassle, but rather a small one. I love how you just take the milk canister and keep it in fridge. REALLY nice! Frothing works well with skim or whole milk - though they tell you to use skim. You can make all sorts of changes when setting up. We got a bad filter initially, call customer service, and had a new one a day later! Overall, a really nice machine. I would purchase again based on what I know so far. Makes a great cup of coffee, latte, etc. ... show more

  • Gaggia Cardona Prestige v De'Longhi Eletta Explore
I was very disappointed at first. When I tried to brew my first cup, I got an error message. After a quick easy call to De'Longhi, I found that the issue was user error. Point being, read the instructions. This De'Longhi ECAM45055S Eletta Explore offers a more fined tuned experience where the grinder is more manually configured to offer the best flavor possible. The grind settings need to be adjusted depending on the type of bean you use, so just be aware of that. Comparing the De'Longh Eletta Explore to the Gaggia, they are pretty similar in terms of flavor. I'll be honest, I'm not a coffee connoisseur, but there was a slight difference between the flavor, but it was marginal at best. Where the De'Longhi ECAM45055S Eletta Explore shines is in every other category. Professional look, ease of use, LCD screen, number of drink options, and most importantly, reliability. The reason I upgraded from the Gaggia Cardona Prestige is because I was having reliability issues with the Gaggia. Now, it could be my lack of experience, but the De'Longhi Eletta Explore appears to be built with higher quality materials and more sound engineering. The other big upgrades from the Gaggia Cadorna Prestige to the De'Longhi Eletta Explore include having 40+ drink options vs. 15 drink options from the Gaggia. The biggest thing being cold drink options. The brewing is faster and quieter (especially frothing the milk). They are more accessories provided for the De'Longhi Eletta Explore including a perfect Thermus portable cup. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase through the first week. While the value might not be as high as the Gaggia for the flavor factor, when you factor in everything else, the De'Longhi ECAM45055S Eletta Explore is far superior and worth the extra price. ... show more

  • Within 2 months, hot milk frothing system failed. Sent to Delonghi repair twice and still not fixed.
So far this purchase has been a nightmare. Ordered 10/22/23. Held off opening for roughly 3 weeks as it was a gift. Worked great for about 3 weeks, then the LatteCrema hot milk system failed - Christmas Day. That was awesome. Contacted Delonghi and waited 2 weeks to get the authorization to send to their repair facility. Got it back 1/26 - replaced an internal connector. It worked for about 6 days, then the same system failed again. Contacted Delonghi. Waited another 10 days for the auth. to send it back. Sent it in. Just received the "repaired" unit back. 2/24/24. No repair - just sent a new Milk Carafe. So - they had me send my entire system back, just to return it un touched, with a new plastic container. Tried to make 1 cappuccino and it failed. Espresso works but no milk - just like before. Will be calling again tomorrow. So to summarize, spent nearly $2K for a machine. Started using it mid November. Failed by late December and haven't been able to use it fully since then. It's nearly March. Could not be more disappointed with this purchase. BTW - Delonghi CS states that because I'm past 90 days of ownership, I can't return it. My only recourse is Warranty repair...which they can't seen to do. If anybody has a time machine, please stop by so I can get a Jura or Gaggia instead. ... show more
