  • Magic in a jar
Color: Copper
If you were on the hunt for magic in a jar, look no further! Let me start off by saying I’ve been using Lush Henna Rouge twice a year for the last few years, and this stuff twice a week (at least) once the henna starts to fade, about 2-3 months in. Not only is it comparable to the henna shade and keeps my color vibrant and bright, but it smells nice and gives my hair the ultimate volume (and tames my frizz, simultaneously). I’ve got naturally wavy hair that’s reallllly dry and oftentimes conditioners either moisturize too much and leave my hair limp and frizz with minimal wave, or they’re next to useless and leave my hair dry and frizz with wonky waves. This? It’s like I went to a salon. I leave it on for about 10 minutes and wash 90% of it out. I air dry my hair, and it’s just amazing. Wave retention, no frizz, soft hair, voluminous, just gorgeous! There are times I’ll use it just because I’m having a rough day and want to at least have pretty hair, if nothing else. It’s not cheap, but it’s not a fortune, and if you’re switching it out with something else you can stretch it out and make it last. For me, the cost is worth it. If they ever stop making this I’ll cry. Do yourself a favor and grab a jar! ... show more

  • You’re not gonna smell like a flower using this conditioner, but you might look as nice as one....
Color: Copper
I bought this product shortly after reading about it in an article about the Netflix series “Russian Doll”. The protagonist of the show has hair alarmingly similar to my own, and since I’ve always been on the lookout for product specifically for maintaining the gloss of the ever temperamental semi-permanent copper dye job, this product seemed like a good place to start. First off, this stuff smells like a fog machine at the tail end of a Halloween party, but what it lacks in pleasant fragrance it makes up for in astounding effectiveness. I have used it twice so far, and I already noticed my hair brightening up. It is no means as vibrant as it was it when I got it dyed, and the product should not be used as an alternative to a true salon touchup, but it works wonders in maintaining a convincing copper tone in between salon visits. Is also the best conditioner I’ve ever used. Though I admit I combined it with another coconut base conditioner, the combination made my hair softer than the other conditioner on it’s own, and it’s probably the softest it’s ever been in my entire life. If you need to maintain your color, I do recommend splurging in this product. ... show more

  • Changing my review!
Color: Copper
I ordered copper but the product that came looked like caramel and I thought in no way can this work on my red hair. I gave it a try and it is amazing! I’m shocked. The color Is beautiful . It brightened my dull faded color and the conditioning is amazing. The product also has a very Pleasant scent and is very conditioning. So glad I found it! ... show more

  • Did not deposit color
Color: Copper
I recently had my higlighted with copper toner and asked my stylist about a good color depositing shampoo and conditioner. Davines was recommended. I have used it 2-3× per week for about 2 months now and I havent noticed any color depositing. I even have people commenting that my hair looks blonder and asking if I have got my done since I started using it. I would save your money and buy something else 😅 ... show more

  • Copper formula does seem different but still worked OK for me.
Color: Copper
The copper conditioner became impossible to find about a year ago which made me sad because it was a staple for me in keeping my coppery auburn brown hair shiny and vibrant between salon visits. when I saw this on Amazon and read the reviews, I was leery because others were saying the formula had changed, but I decided to try it anyway. I agree that the formula definitely seems to have changed-- the color of the product in the jar is no longer an intense copper but more of a light copper brown color. I gave it a try and am still pleased with the results, though I do prefer the old formula. The scent is the same, but another difference (other than the color of the product) is that it seemed less conditioning when I used it. My hair felt knotty when I tried to pull a comb through it after applying the product which was never the case with the previous formula which made my hair silky soft like a normal deep conditioner. The water as I was rinsing was more of a marigold color than a coppery orange color like it used to be, however the formula did stain towels the same copper hue it used to. I used extra conditioner after I rinsed it out because my hair didn't feel soft which I never had to do before. I was a little nervous to see what my results would be but the color came out great. It added the same shine and depth of coppery color that I was expecting. It's maybe a tad less bright, but I am pleased with the results. I also only left it on for a minute or two (as opposed to 4 or 5 like I used to) because I was a bit nervous using it, so that probably impacted the depth of color deposit. I don't have bright red or ginger hair-- I'd say my hair is more coppery brown or coppery auburn-- so I can't say if this would work well for someone with brighter hair than mine, or if it would be dulling. I guess the best advice I have is to do a strand test if you're not sure, which is what I probably should have done but luckily my hair turned out just fine. I do agree with others though that the previous formula with the brighter copper hue was better. I wish they would go back to that. ... show more

  • Love it!!
Color: Copper
I was a little nervous because of the price and wasn’t expecting much because… it’s just conditioner but this made my copper hair POP so much! I just got it colored about three weeks ago and I wanted to try to enhance the color before I go back for my roots next month and this really worked. I don’t know why people are complaining about the smell? It doesn’t necessarily smell GOOD but it just smells like salon conditioner. It’s also EXTREMELY hydrating like my curls haven’t looked this good since before they bleached them. The price for product isn’t the best but also a little goes a long way! ... show more
