So far so good. The suction cups holds really well and the dial is easy to turn and set. I like how it shows the numbers on the front and you can easily micro adjust for the right temperature. There's an orange light that tells you when it is heating. Bought two of them one for a 10 gallon and one for a 5.5, both work perfectly.

Not Effective and Potentially Dangerous!

I bought this heater for a 5-gallon tank and despite following instructions for placement and having a filtration, it DID NOT keep a consistent tank temperature. It was set to 85 degrees, which it would get there but would get extremely cool before coming back on. After noticing that it wasn’t kicking back on for hours though the water was cool, I decided to get a new heater. I unplugged it before removing it and heard it sizzling! I looked at it and the plastic tip was melting! In addition to the electric cord being way too short, I do NOT recommend buying this product at all. It’s worth it to spend a few extra bucks on a quality heater to keep your fishies stress free.

Can't tell if it is working....

Is the light supposed to stay on all the time, or only when it is actively heating? I saw the light come on as soon as I plugged it in, but not any more. So I'm not sure if it is not working or just in an off cycle. UPDATE: It is working fine; it just scared me that it stayed off so long. Prior to this, I had a small heater that stays on and just keeps water 5-10 degrees above ambient temp. It allowed too much variation in water temp, so that it got too cool at times. My betta had gotten lethargic and stopped eating, and I read that can be because he is cold. SO...I bought this one. It is working great. My betta is much more active now, back to eating and swimming happily.

EDIT! UNPLUG YOU HEATER BEFORE YOU DO A WATER CHANGE. DROPPING THE WATER LEVEL WILL CAUSE YOUR HEATER TO CRACK!! Overall, I had been happy with these water heaters. I do have to warn you about what happened to me. The integrity of the water seal was compromised, water leaked inside and this sent the water temp of my aquarium soaring. You can see the melted plastic at the bottom. Fortunately I caught it before any of my fish died. Be careful when using this heater.
