To never be one of those people that bought an appliance that only makes one thing... Like those sandwich maker/toasters for example.... Now I officially have 2 items that were only made for one thing.... The first was a cutter/crimper set for my kids to use to make their own Uncrustables, which has been used daily since I got it for everything from PB&J, to meat/cheese, to tuna salad, to pimento cheese, to even cucumber sandwiches... They have gone sandwich crazy! Then I found this little item while looking for something to let my son cook an egg or 2 in the microwave, and in the midst of all the little plastic and ceramic cups with lids for the microwave I found these egg cookers. The red one was on sale for a lower price than the other colors and as our kitchen is detailed in red I took that as a nudge that we should try it, after reading through countless reviews first! I do want to say that someone on here posted that it didn't work with farm fresh eggs, that's not true! It works just fine! I think their problem was because they punctured their eggs at the top and not at the bottom where the air sack is like the instructions say to do. Make sure you are putting the little hole on the bigger end, the bottom, of the egg. It worked perfectly for us with eggs that were just collected over the past day or 2. We have only had this little thing not even a whole day, it got here this morning and already my kids have made everything from hard boiled, to poached, to "scrambled". My son used the omelette setting and try to make scrambled eggs by only using the fork to break up the yolks and stuff a little, then season and cook, then use his fork to break them up and fluff them a little on his plate. It worked great! They had eggs for lunch and supper today just because they like that they can to it themselves. They are 12, and I did monitor them while they did. We already go through about 20 eggs a week, now I worry that I won't be able to keep them supplied with enough at all! I made myself a soft boiled egg on toast for supper and it was excellent! Its the only photo I have to upload as I didn't think about it when the kids ate. All I added was a little Louisiana Hot Sauce sprinkled over the egg and buttered toast. I didn't mess with anything else as I was exhausted from working out in the yard today. Now I am catching myself not only thinking about get these as gifts for a couple of people I know that work a lot and don't have a lot of time for cooking, but also looking into some of the other little items Dash makes! I rarely mess with steaming rice as I am the only one that eats it, but the size of the one by Dash has me thinking. I absolutely LOVE the size of this egg cooker! Its simple, small, and I have a whole, almost empty top shelf in my kitchen that I could keep 2-3 little things like this easily up there with my big ol crock pot. I am very glad I decided to get this thing, so are my kids! We are always looking for things they can make for themselves without resorting to frozen tv dinner type stuff for when I am working late. My 19yr old daughter can make a few things, but not many, and the boys like making stuff themselves. If you are on the fence about this you should go for it! Everything we have made so far has come out cooked as wanted. I may pick up an extra one to take to the office for people. I think it would be a big hit!

🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚 Just thought I'd write a review for everyone about this since I've been super pleasantly surprised with it. First off, I -HATE- boiling eggs, but I really love them on their own or as components to things for the protein. I have to have a lot of protein in my diet bc otherwise my AuDHD is harder to cope with. So historically, the whole process of trying to boil eggs perfectly by getting the timing right, waiting for the water to boil, sometimes forgetting that I was even making eggs/getting distracted, peeling them (OMG-- 🤬🤬🤬🤬 PEELING EGGS) has all consistently been a huge deterrent to having them readily accessible. That being said, I'm not normally a fan of single-ish use kitchen tools, but the Dash Mini Egg Cooker that I got was worth it SO many times over. I've used it a few times so far, and the results have been: • Perfect hard boiled eggs every single time • No gross green sulphur ring around the yolks • Egg shells come away perfectly and easily It also plays a little tune to remind me that it's done cooking and it won't shut up until I've dealt with it (take that, forgetful brain!!). There are also options for soft and medium boiled by using a different water amount, and trays for poached eggs or omelette, but I haven't tried those just yet. I've already really loved the mini appliances by Dash because I got their mini rice cooker (perfect amount of rice for both my partner and I) and we'd used that 1-3x a week. I also got their mini hand mixer and stand mixer, and I'll definitely review those when I've used them, but if the two other products I've tried and loved are any indication, I'm sure they're going to be great as well. Anyway, 11/10, worth the tiny amount of space it takes up in my life, very reasonable price, and has made an aspect of existence much easier and foolproof. I've always been curious about these little rapid egg cookers, but never bought one due to me thinking, "oh you're not THAT lazy, you can cook some freakin' eggs yourself." Well, decided to go for it because it's $16, I love eggs, and why not. Best purchase! Gone are the days of waiting for water to boil, then waiting for the eggs to cook, sometimes accidentally overcooking them, etc. And gone are the days of peeling impossible shells! Woo hoo! First use and I got 7 perfectly cooked hard-boiled eggs. It says it holds 6 max, but I put in 7, because 7 fit, and it worked perfectly. It's super easy to use and so fast, and you don't have to pay attention to the cooking at all. And the shells came off so easy! No issues! Highly recommend! This sounds like a paid review, but it isn't! This thing is great. And it doesn't even really require cleaning, unless you're using the poaching/omelette accessories, which I probably will rarely if ever use. Great value. Small cons: it should have an auto shut off feature, but this isn't a big deal at all. Also, the music it plays to let you know the eggs are done is a bit excessive, lol. But again, who cares. Not a big deal. If you love eggs, get this!

This is a very handy kitchen gadget that does save me time, especially when it comes to standing over a frying pan or poaching pan to cook my eggs. Now, there are some things that you need to know in order to get the most out of this device. Here’s what I’ve found: 1. If you are poaching eggs, you may find that they completed poached eggs are too watery and loose. One unusual aspect of this cooker is that the more water you measure and put into the boiling tray, the longer your cook time will be. That’s because the unit works by continuing to cook so long as there still is water present which the built-in sensor will detect. I had to experiment to get poached eggs to where I like them which ended up being either around the Soft line or between the Soft & Medium line on the poached eggs side of the water measuring cup. When I cook poached eggs I like to carefully take out the plastic poaching tray (it’s hot use pot holders or similar) to slightly tilt it so that excess water from the steam is removed around each of the eggs prior to me taking them to plate. Also, when I remove poached eggs I use a spoon to take them out of the plastic poaching tray instead of just turning the tray over on a plate. I do this because if you don’t you’ll invariably end up with extra water on your plate. 2. Do not spill any eggs whites on the sides of the cooking plate, on the cooking plate, or even on the plastic cooking tray. That’s because you’ll have one heck of a time trying to clean the burned egg white off of the machine without damaging it. I had this happen once and I had to use a mixture of water and baking soda (let it sit for 20 minutes) in order to get things back to normal. It also took a heck of a lot of Magic Eraser and sponge scrubbing to complete it all. 3. When you’re using the cooker, be sure to make sure that the small open hole of the plastic cover is pointed towards the back of your unit. You don’t really want hot steam blowing out towards the front near your face. 4. Follow the directions in the manual and for the cooking suggestions use those as a good place to start, but fine-tune based on how you like your eggs. This is really a very handy machine. It works well, though one side does get a bit warmer than the other so one egg may be a little less/more cooked than the other, but no big deal. The size of the unit is perfect - not too small, not too big and easily cooks six hardboiled eggs at a time. Washing the plastic plates is very simple and takes almost no time. Ingenious little device and with the right fine-tuning information (like what I’ve tried to enter here) you’ll be well on your way to a really nicely cooked egg. It’s a recommend from me to anyone who likes eggs, but doesn’t like to deal with the standard cook time and process.

This is one of those kitchen gadgets that doesn't immediately jump out at you & say "I need that", but, after you try it, you will wonder why you haven't purchased one sooner! I purchased the Dash Rapid Cooker in the beginning of August, & LOVE IT. I'll admit- I do not like to cook, & I'm not at all good at it, so even when I tried to make hard boiled eggs on the stove top, they never seemed to come out right. :( Hard boiled eggs sound like something that should be easy to make- right? Maybe they are, & maybe I'm just "that bad" of a cook (lol), but to find a gadget to make your life easier is one of the main reasons you purchase any product. This egg cooker will make your life easier. It's a small, basic kitchen gadget. Not alot of buttons & not hard to use. You can cook up to 6 eggs at a time. For hard boiled, be sure to follow the instructions (I recommend allowing them to sit for an extra minute after the alarm for well done hard boiled eggs) & pierce the egg, place them pierced side up, cover, press button & the buzzer will let you know when they're done. Your neighbors will probably know your eggs are done too when the alarm sounds. My goodness, it scares me every time! (Manufacturers- can you make the alarm a little less jolting? The alarm reminds me of those bad weather alerts that scare the hell out of you when they pop up while watching tv). So the alarm is LOUD. Prepare yourselves. I paid $18 when I bought it (excellent deal). I highly recommend this if you like hard boiled eggs. I haven't used it for any other type of eggs so I cannot comment on that, but it is wonderful for hard boiled. When I purchased it, I bought the black colored one. Now, it appears they're also offering it in fun colors. Yay! Would make a great gift for your friends & family too. Happy Shopping!

It is April 15, 2026, and it has been almost 2 years since I purchased the Dash Rapid Egg Cooker. I am absolutely satisfied with this product. It is simple to use, saves me time, it alerts me when the eggs are ready, and cooks them right every time. So far, I have not had any issues with it. My family and I love this egg cooker for its simplicity and convenience. Anyone looking to buy an egg cooker should consider this product.

For me, this product is a fantastic time-saver. With the Rapid Egg Cooker, you don't need to wait 10 minutes for the water to first boil, and then another 10 minutes to cook the eggs. The product automatically cooks them and turns itself off, and it doesn't require you to boil any water, you can start cooking them immediately. It's nice to not need to watch or pay attention to prevent overcooking, you just put the eggs on the plastic egg holder (or omelet/poached egg tray), put in the indicated amount of water into the included transparent plastic cup for the type of eggs you want, pour the water onto the boilerplate & put on the lid, then press the start button and wait for the little tune to indicate they're done; as mentioned, it will stop cooking on its own, but you will need to press the button again to turn off the alarm. I've found it very easy to cook poached, soft, or medium-soft eggs and get it right every time, and I don't need to worry about cooking them for too long. It's also very easy to clean. The instructions mention using the included pin on the bottom of the water container to poke a small hole in the eggshells before cooking, however, I never do that and they come out just fine - try it yourself and decide what works best for you. If you're going to cook poached eggs or omelets, I recommend spraying the tray with non-stick spray so the eggs slide out easily and the trays are easier to clean, and to run any soft-boiled/medium-boiled eggs under cold water or place them in a dish of ice water - to stop them from cooking, make the shells easier to remove, and so you don't burn yourself (the shells will still be very hot when you remove the eggs). As someone who has very little patience, I've found that for the amount of hassle and time it saves you, it is WELL worth the $20 it costs.

Update 2025: Still love this cooker, still use it often, although not so much in the past year given the cost of eggs. They are finally getting down to 'normal' price and I'm back to my daily habit of letting the buzzer buzz for way too long before I consume my eggs. A friend bought one of the newer models and they were relieved it didn't have the 'horrible' buzzer sound but I don't care much for the chime the new one makes so I'm quite happy with my Klaxon of Doom! The 7th egg on the newer models is a nice bonus. Update 2021: This cooker is going strong and awesome as ever. I'd give it 6 stars if possible. I started using the poaching tray this year and the eggs are perfect. It is imperative to use some non-stick spray in the tray for the egg to slide out. I've had great luck using water right at or slightly below the poaching line on the water cup. I use a little under when I am going to toss the eggs in some oatmeal to make an eggy porridge and they finish cooking in the warm oatmeal. Update 2020: Star rating changed from 4 to 5 - this cooker is boss. I've had this cooker over 2 years. It's been used every day for the past year at least once, often twice and occasionally more. The sediment that builds up on the plate when doing hard cooked eggs is from the water. Pouring a little vinegar on the metal plate and letting it soak for a bit cleans it right up without too much scrubbing. I do the same with the egg holder platter and stem when it looks dingy and soap doesn't clean it off. I still haven't made poached eggs in the thing but I did get adventurous and started adding spinach to my omelettes. I need to fill the water just above the omelette line and let the egg patty sit in the cooker a few minutes to avoid a gooey center but it works well and is now my preferred prep method. The buzzer is as loud today as it was the first, a pro and con at the same time. I occasionally miss the buzzer when I'm in the back of the house but it dutifully continues to buzz, although occasionally intermittently, up to an hour later. No idea if it would continue past that point, I got tired of it and turned it off. Original review 2018: I've had this cooker about a month and I have used it several times every week. Hard/Medium boil: - The marking for hard boil on the cup resulted in eggs that had a slightly squishy yolk in the center which is no good for deviled eggs so I fill the water cup almost all the way to the top so it cooks a bit longer. I can boil 1 or 6 eggs at a time and they all come out the same level of doneness with the same amount of water and wait time after the buzz. I do leave them in the cooker a few minutes for a hard boil just to be sure the yolks are solid and I have yet to get any green or tough yolks doing this and the whites remain tender as well. The medium line was pretty good for the softer eggs I ate as a snack by themselves. I haven't tried making soft boiled eggs as the medium boil was as soft as I like! VS cooking on the stove, the eggs from the cooker cool much quicker and without ice in the water, plus they peel just as easy a few days later right from the fridge. Not sure if I'd leave them past a few days as the shell needs piercing for boiling, but so far so good on 2-3 days. Also as mentioned in other reviews there is discoloration on the heating plate after boiling eggs but it doesn't occur when using either of the egg cooking platter so I do not think it is rust but sediment from the shells. Omelette: - The markings for omelette are right on for me. I get a nice firmly formed egg that is still tender and an interesting puffy top layer. It isn't so much an omelette as a thick egg patty and perfect for a sandwich on toast or a bun. There is a bit of overhang on an english muffin, but not so much you can't make it work. The recipe booklet says you can add things like spinach to the egg in the cooker but I haven't tried that yet. After the buzzer goes off I can add some cheese to the top and cover it for a minute while bread is toasting and the cheese melts nicely. Be sure to use vegetable spray to coat the cooking cup for easy release. Poaching: - Haven't tried poaching myself but a friend has and said it worked well. Again, need to use that spray or else it's a mess and hard to get out! Other thoughts: - I wasn't shopping for an egg cooker, or even thought I needed one, before I saw this listed as a lightning deal around Thanksgiving. After reading so many funny and entertaining reviews regarding the buzzer I had to hear it for myself! I was a little disappointed that the sound wasn't quite the 'Klaxon of Doom' I had been expecting. It is more like a high pitched annoying perpetual buzz that you really don't want to continue listening to but could easily be missed if the washer/dryer/dishwasher was going at the same time and you're a few rooms away. Overall the cooker does a great job making it possible to get a hot breakfast made while getting ready in the morning. I've probably saved hours of time and hassle on the few dozen hard boiled eggs alone. I wouldn't be without the cooker now and aside from the urge to make a REAL omelette now and again (with 3 eggs), I am happy to let this cooker handle all of my egg cooking needs.
