I was excited to buy this but it didnt work with Dasaita Radio that i have in my car. Manual didnt come with the package, had to google it how it works and followed it step-by-step and still wont work. It wont pair in my Dasaita Radio.

If you happen to have a 2021 Mazda CX-5, save your blood pressure...the box may work but the Mazda head unit won't play nice with it. Every 30 seconds the head unit would exit carplay, then say it couldn't start carplay or give some message about an invalid carplay device then finally resume. I know it was my head unit because the AI box would still be on the screen where I left off. But it would never hold in carplay more than minute or two max -- less if I tried to do anything with the app. If you don't have a touch screen --- (thanks mazda), you can use the rotary knob to get to bluetooth settings to pair a mouse. You will need it because the default launcher doesn't work right with just the rotary controls to navigate. There are other AI boxes that have launchers that work better though none are great. This AI box allows only very minimal customizations to the default launcher though it does allow you to use any other launcher you want to load, including using just the default android launcher. There are fewer preinstalled apps than I've seen on other AI boxes. You cannot remove or disable or even change permissions on them either. This is a problem because there (like most all of the AI boxes I've used) are multiple tracking apps that are installed and run whether you like it or not. The one thing that does make this box stand out with only a few others is the built in HDMI in and HDMI out ports. They are mini-hdmi so you will need a different cable (not included). The HDMI out is enabled by default -- an unexpected surprise. It allowed me to plug the AI box into my monitor at home and go through all of the setup and customizations rather than run down my car battery. Since I could not get it to work in my car, I can't speak to the performance of the box in terms of lag or audio sync while connected to the car via carplay. It seemed responsive and stable when using just the HDMI out. I don't know how well the box performs when running both outputs. The box can only play audio for one of the outputs. So if you are using the HDMI to show a movie on a separate screen to your kids, you will not be able to hear the audio for what's on your screen. Now, if you think (unfortunately I did) "wow, how cool...I can run my android apps and then switch to showing my phone via carplay through the ai box", you will be really sadly disappointed. To use your apple device via carplay through the AI box, you open an app called speedplay. While it does technically work, it's really laggy and the audio delay is awful. Also, because you are connecting to the box with your apple device using wifi, the AI box can no longer use its WiFI to connect to the internet (if you were using your car's hotspot or tethering to your phone. It's not just the AI box that presents the limitation. Your iphone can't act as a tether hotspot while connecting wirelessly to carplay. Unfortunately you can't conecct to the AI box carplay via the AI box's USB. It can only connect via wifi. That means you will need to get a compatible SIM (only some will work) and get a data plan for it. If you treat this an android tablet and not as an extension of your phone, this is a great option with lots of possibilities. Leave your phone out of the equation. If you have an android phone, you can probably do just fine but apple users will have more difficulty. You can connect your phone via bluetooth but you will be up to the mercy of your head unit on how well it handles incoming phone calls and then switching back afterwords or playing music from your phone while using the AI box.

Incredible little device jam packed with lots of great features, it is a plug & play CarPlay dongle that runs on the Android 13 system with a Qualcomm 660 CPU that has an astonishing 8G RAM + 128GB ROM memory. The dongle is a good round size, about as big as a cookie & equipped with a type-c plug-in, SD card slot, SIM slot, USB input & an HDMI input/output that also comes with 3 different wire plug-ins which is helpful, I only needed the type-c for my car. Once plugged in to my 2023 Hyundai Sonata it booted up all on its own practically immediately, transforming my OEM built-in touchscreen car radio unit into an updated CarPlay radio with lots of extra capabilities that was not originally able to utilize due to OEM restrictions. I setup HotSpot to the radio & was able to watch YouTube videos flawlessly without any lag or interruptions, I can log into Netflix & use various other apps & so much more. You can even switch back to the original OEM settings very easily, there is so much you can do with this. The price seems high but the technology & performance of this little SmartBox CarPlay Entertainment dongle is very much well worth it.

Unfortunately, I've tried this carplay on both my highlander and Ram, but doesn't response and even connect it to 12v type C doesn't turn on. I blieve it has some technical issues and needs improvement.
