  • Nice Look - Misleading Advertisement and Too Expensive.
Color: For Corolla 2014-2016 (4G+64G) Vivid OS
STOP AND READ! This radio may work and do all it claims to do in Europe or Asia but, not in a USA 2014 Toyota Corolla L. Recommend looking into less expensive head units before purchasing. We fell for the advertisement and the numerous Youtube videos that make this radio out to be something it is not. Before anyone says anything, YES, we triple checked everything to ensure it was connected correctly. We read all the information about it before purchased. All statements and videos led us to believe that the bells and whistles would work on a 2014 Toyota Corolla. They don't! The only reason I didn't return this thing was due to all the hours of work, modifications and aggravation it took to get it, get it installed and functioning (what we could get to function). The first order from Amazon was mysteriously "LOST" by the postal service. Amazon refunded our money (Cool! Thank Amazon) and I reordered another one (in hindsight I should have used the money for a different one but my Son really wanted this one) After we went through two days of stressing out trying to get everything working my Son asked me to just leave it installed as he was concerned we may damage the car trying to remove it to send back. I'm still angered by the look of disappointment on my son's face as we had expected far more from this thing, and it failed to deliver. Pros: 1. Looks nice. 2. Produces good sound with built in amp/equalizer 3. The WIRED "Zlink", which they call "Carplay", works 4. Radio works 5. Watching videos does work but buffer a lot even on a 5G network. 4. Big touch screen Cons: 1. Cost $500+ just to get a 10.2 inch touch screen and a built in amp. 2. Dasaita Website absolutely worthless. No Help page. No software updates. You can waste your time emailing or attempting to call (we did both and got no answer on either). Still looking for how to update/upgrade firmware. Found several forums on Internet but all for other head units. 3. Does not come with all the advertised apps installed. 4. Lots of advertised apps/capabilities are useless and most that ARE installed do not work on most cars unless you spend more money to mod/upgrade the car itself. Example: CARBUS Failures - no door indicator even though car has indicator light. No TPMS though car has TPMS indicator. Display climate control setting - NO. 5. No "easyconnection" app installed- searched play store and could not find one to install (USA) 6. No optional launchers - youtube videos of installations fail to mention this (ALONG WITH MANY OTHER THINGS ABOUT THIS RADIO) - all boost about cool optional launchers but, none are preinstalled and ones on play store will cost money after trial use. 7. Frame had to be "TRIMMED" to fit back into the car - having to destroy the quality of a $500+ item is RIDICULOUS. For the price the company could provide several optional frames in the box to be used with the radio. 8. "Wireless" Carplay (ZLInk) is false statement. An hour of trying and failing to make connect we plugged in the USB cable to the phone and instantly worked. So, yeah wireless for Iphone is false. After installing we started seeing other people posting about some Carplay Dongle which is not provided. Of course you could give DASAITA more of your hard earned money and purchase one so you then would have WIRELESS Carplay. 9. Network connection to 5G internet - been trying to download and install updates from play store for over a week. Only two of the original eight updates have installed. Remind me what exactly paying extra for this PX6 processor was supposed to make faster?!. *Have I mention we still can't find a way to upgrade the firmware. You have to DOWNLOAD it to a USB device and install it manually. Yet we have no idea where to find it and download it for this radio. I'm sorry I'm trusting some forum with links from "Users". Where is the DASAITA company download site? 10. Bluetooth - useless. Connects but no point after the Zlink WIRED worked. 11. Could not get an aftermarket backup camera to show on screen. Followed all wire diagrams, voltage and triger all were good. Head unit would not recognize and trigger video display. Swapped through all VGA connections for vid on head unit and none did anything. Anyway, I think most reading this will get will get the point by now. OVERALL - NOT RECOMMENDED. Should be one star but I gave it two only because it looks nice and does have the amp/eq built in. If you're rich and like throwing almost $600 dollars away, go for it. The only thing we got out of throwing away my hard earned money was a lot of frustration and a large touchscreen. We had radio and bluetooth ability in the base stock radio before, along with wired capabilities. We could have purchased an oem upgrade from Toyota with touchscreen at a third of the price (my original gut instinct that we should have followed). Think long and hard before buying this head unit or others like it. ... show more

  • Best Android Car unit I ever head however need a lot work
Color: For Tacoma Corolla Sienna 2016-2018(4G+6...
After 1 month of use Ok, I had multiples Android Car units, I can say this one is so far the best one and the most expensive too. This unit is fast , fast boot, no lags on the navigation and nice looking unit. This is supposed to be a plug and play unit for Tacoma but it’s wasn’t really First I had to cut my Trim bezel in order to fit, also the mount that holds the unit need to be drilled. Second my back camera doesn’t work, I connected everything and followed all the instructions it I got black screen was working with original unit before, I read on line some unit you need change some pins on the harness. I sent an e-mail to DASAITA no email back very disappointed. CarPlay Wireless works 90% of the time when you start the car, the big issue is once it’s connected you can’t use the Android System built on the radio, because it uses WiFi to communicate with CarPlay so if you try turn wifi on to get HotSpot it will keep turning off and kicks back the carplay over and over, the wifi and makes impossible to use, unless you turn bluetooth and carplay off on your iphone which is stupid no point to have a radio with apps. CarPlay Audio Delay, there is a 2 second audio delay which is annoying, if you uses WhatsApp App you need send a audio record it will drive you crazy, also when you change a song takes 2 seconds to change the song. If I can fix the camera I think I can deal with audio lag, bluetooth call is not bad it’s decent. Overall it’s a good unit but needs a lot work ... show more

  • Not bad
Color: For Corolla 2014-2016 (4G+64G) Vivid OS
My goal was to find a plug-in replacement which provides Bluetooth / Android Auto / Carplay functionality while preserving my backup camera and steering wheel controls. For installation, I mounted the GPS antenna on top of the unit, and CAN bus module under the unit, using adhesive foam tape. I did not connect the external mic, extra USB ports, or RCA pre-outs. I don't have unlimited data, so I use this without tethering to my phone. Likes: Boot time is very quick, perhaps faster than the stock headunit. Backup camera, steering wheel controls, and radio worked out-of-the-box. Includes GPS software that works standalone (no phone, no internet). Equalizer works nicely. Though not a requirement for me, door open and HVAC information worked out-of-the-box. Dislikes: There is no bracket to bolt into the dash; only the clips hold the unit in place. I worry about safety in a front-end collision. The unit should be secured by at least two bolts. For the price, they could have included multiple frames for different model years, which clip around the unit. This would obviate the need to cut incompatible tabs. The ZLink application disconnects Android Auto intermittently. Hoping a software update will eventually resolve this. The OS forbids changing media and notification volume separately. As such, notification volume is annoyingly loud compared to music. There are too many radio presets, making it hard to navigate. 6 would be fine. ... show more
