  • Cute, Comfy, and Guaranteed!
Size: Medium Color: Plum Heather
These are great hiking socks. They are the right thickness for my hiking boots, they fit snugly on my feet but aren't too tight, I like the cheerful pattern, and, best of all, lifetime guarantee! No receipt necessary, no expiration date, just send them back to the company and they will replace them 30 years from now if they wear out. With a guarantee like that you would expect the material to have the consistency of plastic or metal, but, instead, they are soft, warm and comfortable. So worth the price! ... show more

  • These socks + crocs = best slippers ever
Size: Medium Color: Eclipse
These are my favorite type of darn tough socks to wear inside with my crocs. It’s the best “slipper” combo. They’re well padded and warm. I don’t like how badly they pill. I haven’t even washed these yet and wore them inside for a day. They’re covered in pills. I will use a fabric shaver which makes them look great again, but it does wear down the wool quicker. Good thing they have an excellent warranty. I love my mid weight socks for general every day wear in the winter, but these I plan to use for going sledding and indoor for slippers. Oh and I wanted to mention they run smaller than the Midweight. Don’t machine dry them. ... show more

  • Love these socks
Size: Medium Color: Moss Heather
My sister got me to try this brand after she had picked up one of their lightweight ankle socks for her exercise stuff. I now seriously owe the girl a pair of socks. This brand will now be taking possession of my sock drawer. I'm one of those people who for some odd reason kill socks. Not sure if it is how I walk, the types of shoes I wear, or what. But I've spent a small fortune on replacing socks on a continual regular basis. So picking up a brand that backs up their socks for life is both a financial and waste reductive move. What makes it awesome is that I get high quality socks in a wide range of colors and thicknesses, as well. No having to 'make do' with a too thin or too thick sock. And because I can fit the activity, the type of shoe, or the weather to the right sock, it makes for happier feet. I'm wearing the Vermont Hiker Boot Full Cushion Sock as my everyday sock at work--where I stand on concrete floors for eight hours in steel toed work boots in a warehouse area. Even in the high heat we've had (nineties), I haven't switched out socks. The socks are comfortable--the thickness means I don't have hurting feet at the end of shift, and the wool means that while I have some natural sweat, I'm not peeling off sodden socks at the end, either. Which also means that I haven't had to worry over my toe health lately, either. Awesome. Sure, these socks first come across as expensive. But when I add up all the heaps of 'cheap' socks I've bought over and over because they wear out so fast, it turns out that the 'cheap' socks are actually the expensive ones. I'll actually be saving money (and landfill space) by buying Darn Tough socks. I've even starting picking up some for my BOB kit. I bought socks that match my shoe size--and fit the activity/shoe I intended to wear them with. If you don't know what that is, haul over to the Darn Tough sock website and get the info you need. If you've got giant calves or weird feet, then call their customer service and talk to them a bit to get a good idea of what socks would best suit you. I've always found it the height of stupidity to read reviews of people so lazy that they won't do the basics of buyer responsibility like that and then get all pissed and slam the product or company. So don't be one of those people. Anyway, I hand wash and air dry my socks. Just because they're wool and even though the fancy new washer and dryer supposedly can take care of them right, I don't trust it. If you want to, that's on you. Love these socks. Going to get another pair or two this month. One for the sister who told me about them and one for me. Then some for my brother to put into his BOB. And so on. Yes, love these socks. Finally, I can say that about a sock. ... show more

  • Kept my feet warm for hours
Size: Small Color: Bark
Socks are great, they kept me very warm in a cold day where I was out for over 4 hours. Definitely plan on buying more. They are moisture wicking and feel great. The length is perfect.

  • What all socks SHOULD be!
Size: Large Color: Plum Heather
I’m a nurse and was hesitant to buy these, thinking they might get too warm/itchy/who knows what. 12hr. shift after 12hr. shift - never happened! Also never had to worry about them falling down or bunching, which can exacerbate swelling for those of us on our feet all day. And despite perspiring heavily at least a few times each shift, when I took them off at home, my feet were completely dry (and odorless)! Also, they’re nice and thick, adding a bit more cushioning for overworked feet. I love these - I never knew socks could be like this, and now I’ll never buy any other kind. HIGHLY recommended. ... show more

  • "Lukewarm socks"
Size: Medium Color: Slae
The socks are a great fit and are comfortable. the only reason I didn't give them a 5 was because, in the -5 degree weather, they didn't keep my feet as warm as I hoped, otherwise a great sock.

  • Love these socks!
Size: Large Color: Green Tea
I'm something of a sock freak. I'm also tall and wear a women's size 10 shoes/boots, so it's hard to find ordinary local-store socks that fit well, that are long enough up the legs, that aren't too tight or don't easily stretch out, and whose toe seams don't chafe when I wear my beautiful leather boots or certain shoes. These socks have no toe seams at all, and what a pleasure THAT is! They hug the feet and ankles, but not too tightly. And since this particular style is intended for hiking, the entire sole of each sock is cushioned. You can really feel the cushioning, and it's lovely; I've never had socks (or even slippers) that cushion your foot from toes to heel anything remotely like this. (I have a second pair of Darn Tough socks, knee highs, without the cushioning -- and also without toe seams, as are all of their socks. I really like those too.) Darn Tough socks are mightily expensive for a "mere" pair of socks. I've never before spent this much for one pair of socks in my life. On the other hand, they are guaranteed for life, so I figured I couldn't lose. My socks may outlive me! (Also: they're made in Vermont, NOT China; a big plus, as far as I'm concerned.) But more than anything, it's that seamless toe that won me over. I definitely made the right choice. I would, and will, buy more Darn Tough socks when I need them. (I have other, inferior pairs to wear out first.) One other thing: the many different colors and patterns are a little stroke of genius, I think. They're whimsical and cheerful; and they make you -- and the people seeing you wear them -- want to smile. ... show more
