DAP Alex Painter's Acrylic Latex Caulk is an all purpose caulk. It adheres to a wide variety of surfaces and works for use on trim and door or window frames. Alex Painters caulk is paintable with latex and oil-based paints. It is low in odor and cleans up easily with water. Meets ASTM C834 for extrudability, artificial weathering, extension recovery and slump. Interior/exterior use. DAP caulk and sealants provide durable performance for a variety of projects.

Product is fine if you intend to completely paint over. But it is less fine when you have a white ceiling (which you intend to not paint), and bead the wall/ceiling edge prior to wall cut-in. The caulk goes on white but dries to a light brownish color. Some of the bead then inevitably shows up along the edge of the ceiling you were hoping not to paint! Love everything about this caulk: easy to apply, easy clean up BUT there is a brownish tint to it when it dries up. If you are painting over it, you're fine but if not then that is an issue. I wasn't planning on painting over this and was forced to because of the appearance. I painted my stair risers white and used this to cover up some seams. It covers the seams well, no cracking or shrinking but I had to do another coat of paint since the light brown tint was very obvious against the white paint. ... show more

I just love these tubes of Dap caulk that are designed to make you waste half the tube. 10 minutes after you take the pressure off the tube, there's still caulking coming out. Never again Dap.

Excellent seal, note that you MUST have a caulk gun to use this. Sealed my room and noticing less bugs and cold air. Comes off cleanly, I reccomend to use gloves though.

I have used DAP painters caulk for many years and completely recommend it. However, 2 of the four tubes I received from Amazon had been sliced with a blade somehow. Of course, they were ruined (caulk freely flowed from the gashes) and had to be thrown away. Unfortunately, I was not aware of the problem until the return window had closed. ... show more

This is not advertised correctly as it does not dry white. It dries more of a brown. See photos. I cannot recommend the product for that reason. I cannot comment on the durability of the product. It’s easy to spread and clean off your fingers/tools.
