  • Fixed broken plate
Used this to fix a broken plate. Process was not very hard to figure out, and the plate has been fine ever since. Goes through the microwave, dish washer, everything. I forget it was ever broken. Good to have around.

  • Excellent for fixing a broken dish, food safe
It was very easy to work with this product. I liked that the drying time was slightly delayed, as repairing a broken dish requires patience and precision. It was very important to me to use a product that is verifiable and absolutely food safe per ANSI/NSF and/or FDA standards. *There are many products out there that claim to be food safe, but you have to actually look for that information to be stated on the product or the product’s manufacturing site. Also, if a chemical product is not made in the United States, don’t buy it, as this information is almost always impossible to find and intentionally omitted. I visited dap.com and verified the safety information on the MSDS (material safety data sheet) as well. I made sure that I had plenty of ventilation, but honestly, there wasn’t much of an odor. Make sure that the opening that you create at the tip is large enough! A safety pin is not wide enough for the viscosity of this product, fyi. ... show more

  • Does the job
Used it to reattach a chip from my favourite coffee mug. Worked a treat. The mug has been through the dishwasher several times since and the repair has held great.

  • Easy to work with
Some silicone I've used were too tacky and hard to get out of the tube. This was easy to work with. I appreciate that they certify it to be food safe.

  • this really worked
I have a plastic birdbath that got a crack in the bowl, and as birdbaths are so pricey (to replace this exact one would be about $50), I tried to fix it myself. Used an entire can of that spray on sealer, sprayed the bottom as I didn't want to hurt the birds, well, that stuff didn't work at all, still leaked. Then I saw this, read the reviews, saw it was fish safe at least, so, got it. I cleaned out the bowl part of the bath, let it dry and then opened up the tube. I did not use the little plastic nozzle that came with it as I felt it was too large for the hairline crack that ran across the bowl. Instead, I improvised and used one of those little plastic identification tags that are placed inside the potted plants we buy. Decided the pointed end of it would be what I needed to "trowel" the adhesive into the crack. It worked really well, I was able to use my new "tool" to spread the DAP product into the crack and slightly on either side of the crack, and level it out. I did not notice any smell from this product, which was good as I have gotten sick from glue smells before. Took me about 10 minutes to get it the way I wanted, and I let the birdbath sit in the sun for 2 days before trying to put water in it, when I did--NO LEAKS!! I let it cure one more day and then filled it with water and put it back under the butterfly bush, where the birds have been using it since! Nice to have the birdbath back again, and I hope it really doesn't hurt critters as they advertise! ... show more

  • It says FOOD SAFE on the front of the package - I used it on acrylic and it worked great. Holding 2 pieces together well
This could not be easier. It says FOOD SAFE on the front of the package. I had an acrylic serving dish that needed a fix. It had broken into 3 pieces, and one piece had to be reattached completely- Imagine a circle broken in two, with a tube coming out. It fixed it right up. It's visible that it was fixed, but it is nice and stable and usable and holding fine. No water is leaking through the repair- and the vessel's primary purpose is to dispense beverages. Just snip the tip, it comes out a bit thick, like a thick silicone gel, and hold it into place for 5 minutes. Then, it needs to harden for 24 hours. I followed the directions and I'm very pleased with the results. I would use it again. It was more than enough for my project. ... show more

  • A winner
I accidently knocked over a ceramic bird bath while mowing he front yard. The result was that two small pieces about 2" x 3" in size broke off the top of the stand just under the bath portion. When I stood it back up and placed the bath back on top it rested on the stand with no problem and because the broken parts were so high on the stand their absence was not visible from a standing position. However, my spouse witnessed the accident and was not satisfied to have two parts of the birdbath unattached. The birdbath is a bit pricey so I thought about some type of repair rather than a replacement birdbath. Amazon came to the rescue. I did a search for ceramic adhesive and was led to this Dap 00688 sealant. I applied the sealant to both the birdbath base and to the two broken pieces. I was unable to clamp them in place for drying but they fit quit nicely even though not held in place. I let the repair dry for 24 hours and when I checked it out the pieces seemed quite sturdy. I set the bath portion on the base and everything looked good and the Dap held fast. Although I have been a handyman for many years this is my first experience with ceramic repair. Dap came through like a champion and everyone is happy. Almost everyone. ... show more
