This knife is razor sharp! It made easy work of a pineapple. It sliced right through the skin and core with little effort. Trimming the pineapple was easy. It's light weight and well balanced. Even with it's beautiful smooth resin handle, I still had a good grip with water wet hands. I am not sure about the grip if it gets oily. Then again, most knives won't have a good grip if your hands get oily. Overall , this is a beautiful kitchen knife, not to short, not to long, just right. Dalstrong great quality as always.

The quality and craftsmanship of this knife are amazing. I love this knife and it’s my first Dalstrong. The packaging itself is incredible as well. It is extremely sharp out of the box and has held its edge wonderfully! I plan on getting more of these to make a full set. The handle is beautiful. It sits great in the hand and feels well balanced and ergonomic. I just hope they make a Valhalla steak knife! That would really wrap up the Valhalla collection. These hang on my wall with a magnetic holder and are my fancy knives and then the Vanquish series are my workhorse knives that get most of the mileage.

Unboxing this knife was one of the best purchase experiences I have ever had. It's almost like this knife belongs in a museum. Stunningly gorgeous, sharp as a razor blade and quality gone through the roof. If you are on the fence about buying this, jump off now and BUY IT!! I was on the fence about buying it after reading that it's made in China, and other reviews that seemed to suggest that it's overpriced with regards to the quality vs other chef knives on the market. I decided to take a leap of faith and bought it anyway. Very glad I did! This is the nicest knife I have in my collection now, and will easily be my go-to for daily use. It's a beautiful piece, for starters, and it arrived razor sharp and in really nice packaging. It has a great weight to it, and the bolster on the handle allows for a solid pinch grip. I'm very happy with my purchase, and will likely be buying more from Dalstrong.

So the knife came and looked pretty nice. On first use it was nice and sharp straight out the box. The finish is somewhat cheesy and fake looking on the blade itself. The handle is beautiful. I used it 3 times and hand washed it and immediately dried it and put it in my magnetic block. When I went to use it the 4th time I noticed the resin handle wasn’t sealed instead and it caused pitting and rough spots in the handle. Also, the brown parts of the handle had turned white in the pitted areas. Small but noticeable. I reached out to Dalstrong directly with a solid description and multiple photos and got no response. I waited a week, still nothing. Luckily Amazon customer service was much more helpful and handle the situation with a replacement overnight. This is my 4th and last Dalstrong after this experience. Bad customer service will always trump a decent product. There are too many other solid knife brands and many make a better product. To be fair, the replacement had a better handle that was properly sealed and had a lot more color. The knife is heavy and sturdy. It’s well balanced and sharp. But with the initial knife having such poor quality and topped off with poor service I will take my business elsewhere in the future. **update Dalstrong reached out after my review and did make a solid effort to make the situation better including sending me a complimentary knife. Still apprehensive about purchasing again but the good customer service is appreciated
