Description

REVROS is it now has a ZAION V body which is simultaneously lighter and a lot stronger than what other manufacturers are using at this price-point, typically a nylon-based graphite. This is true carbon resin graphite. It also keeps all the bearings and gears in precise alignment because it’s a harder, more rigid material. It doesn’t bend or lose efficiency while under load fighting a fish. The new REVROS also features an AIRDRIVE ROTOR and AIRDRIVE BAIL. Especially with these new design changes, the DAIWA REVROS is a great starting point for beginning to avid anglers.

This was my first reel of this type. I have been stuck in the "ZEBCO web" for 76 years now. This reel is a game changer for my fishing experiences. Over the past few years, I had developed a loss of power in my thumbs making my ZEBCOs difficult to cast accurately. This reel is great and because I don't have to rely on my thumb to depress that release button anymore, and it has brought back a life of fishing that I thought was lost to me forever. I bought this reel for a light weight set up and paired it with an Okuma Celilo for trout and steelhead. This set up feels great! The reel has an excellent drag system that sounds wonderful and rivals some of the more expensive reels. For the money, this is a great reel and great value. The color is beautiful and eye catching in a classy way. It’s not loud and obnoxious like some of the brands out there. I’d highly recommend this reel if you are stepping up from the basic ugly stick combo to something a little nicer. I buy the 1000 size for UL panfish rods. This is an incredible reel for the price. Smooth as butter and cast great. I like the shallow spool for panfishing and light 2-4lb. line. Deep spools with 2lb. take a ridiculous amount of line. The shallow spool means the line wraps are wider in diameter causing less memory and better casting. No need in spending $100 plus on a panfish reel. It doesn't have as many bearings as a lot of the wannabee reels do, and it doesn't need them. If you are buying a reel just based on bearing count you probably are a newbie. Quality of bearings is what matters, not number of bearings. ... show more

The quality of this reel is apparent right out of the box. Action is smooth as silk and silent. Silent is important so you're not transmitting noise down your fishing line into the water. Reel was a little smaller than I expected for a 2500 series reel; it looks a little undersized on my 7'-6" rod, but it definitely does the trick I spooled it up with 10 lb. braid and it will land about anything I've caught so far. I purchased this reel for trout fishing. It is small and compact. I am able to cast my lure and bait pretty good distance. It is smooth and whisper quiet when reeling in. It is a fantastic reel for the price point.

I have two of these in the 3000 size for bass fishing. Very smooth and the drag seems to work well. I did manage to bend the retrieve handel on one of the that I'll have to fix. Sort of impressed that it bent rather than breaking. It's going to require putting in a vice to bend it back...not sure how I did it but, it must have taken a lot of force and nothing else on the reel broke. ... show more
