Description
The all new EXCELER LT - Daiwa uses a carbon fiber body called ZAION V. The new version is 3%-5% lighter than our current EXCELER for comparable sizes. It also comes with an AIRDRIVE ROTOR & AIRDRIVE BAIL like our version on the EXIST—are tubular but they’re not on the EXCELER. We went to a solid bail wire for its rigidity and resistance to bending during normal use, the thinner, smaller wire is also lighter, which reduces the weight of the rotation, thus reducing the weight of the reel. It's machined aluminum handle is a comfortable, strong connection to the main gear of the spinning reel. And the retooled EXCELER is extremely smooth utilizing 5 ball bearings and 1 roller bearing to maximize performance.

Got this for $90 on prime day. Possibly the smoothest reel I’ve ever owned it’s super light also not to heavy on the wrist. Superb Quality. Air drive is the best thing diawa has done in years. I would feel comfortable paying double the retail price. I’m buying more of these as I write this review

This reel was great. I used it to catch northern pike, small mouth, and walleye in northern Minnesota. Fished throwing spoons and trolling with this having 12# line on and it was smooth and had no issues with tangles and the drag was good too. I like the compact size of this version.

I absolutely love these reels! They are the smoothest 100 dollar reels I've ever owned. They aren't as light as some of my others but they aren't much heavier. The buttery smooth retrieve really helps make my jig swim action/ presentation look more natural and I'm noticing less hesitation on strikes. The drag is great as well. It really sings to you when you catch a hog and it's smooth as well.

Great smallmouth reel

I already own the Exceler LT 1000 ultralight which I use on my panfish/trout rod. Since I was looking for a slightly larger reel for my smallmouth rod (4-8 lb, med-fast action G Loomis) and was pleased with how my Daiwa 1000 worked I decided to see what other Exceler LT reels Daiwa made and came across the 2000. Contrary to some reviewers who claimed their reels arrived scratched, mine arrived brand new. Have used it now and, as expected, it performed perfectly. Casts a mile with a 1/8 oz jig, retrieval is silky smooth, and the drag worked flawlessly when playing fish. Highly recommend, especially when they go on sale for $80 as opposed to their usual $100 sticker price which was the sale price I paid for this reel.

All around amazing reel

Buttery smooth reel. I ordered the 2000 size, which I have paired with the 6'6 Light TFO Trout/panfish 2 rod. Very lightweight at 6.3oz when compared to other reels this size. It balances nicely. I have other 2000 sized Daiwa reels and this is by far the quietest and smoothest one of the bunch. Aesthetically, it is a sleek looking reel. It looks great on any of my rods. The drag is silky smooth, and I'm a huge fan of the drag sound. Nice loud, sharp click.... this thing sings during runs. It's one of my favorite reels, next to the newer Shimano Sahara 2000. It's an all around great reel, at the price point. I've enjoyed it so much, that I ordered one for my brother. Just a joy to fish with.
