The teeth of the comb are longer and less sharp than they appear in the product photo, which was a welcome surprise on both counts. I was looking for a comb with longer teeth such as this one to replace and old one we lost. It's just the right size for my small, long haired, double coated dog. It's appropriate mostly for daily grooming to prevent mats before they occur. If he was already super tangled, I'd probably choose a different tool for teasing out mats. But this is perfect for maintenance grooming. The wide, rounded teeth of this comb are comfortable for my dog so he doesn't hate it so much which lets me groom him more often.     • Not great for my fluffy dog
At least with my fluffy dog (maltipoo) this comb gets caught in his curls. It works great on my more slick-haired dog. The handle has a nice feel and grip.

    • Good comb to find the matted spots
I got this comb as I was in need of a good comb to use to find the matted spots on my dog's fur. It works great to find those spots and to slowly break up the matted spots. It's a good size for my dog, as well, who is about 15 pounds. I would recommend this comb to others.

This pet comb works better than any doggy hairbrush I've used in the past! My dog (who hates his hair being brushed) actually tolerates this one... and it does a great job!

    • Pulled Dog's hair Badly!
I cannot recommend this comb, as it didn't comb through for some reason on the dog's fine hair, instead pulling it out. I love the idea of the swiveling head on the comb so you don't have to change hands though.

This is the perfect comb for a long haired, double coat dog! I have a sheltie and I have different combs, but none this size. The teeth on the comb are long and pretty far apart. This is great comb for a first pass through the coat to get rid of tangles and then follow up with a finer brush and comb for line brushing. It will be perfect to detangle his long coat when it's wet too. The comb is nice and sturdy and the handle is comfortable to hold. Great addition to my set of grooming tools. ... show more

This comb is perfect for Peanut's silky hair. It is much better than using a brush on him. He really seems to like the massage he gets when I'm combing him, too!
