This brush is incredibly effective in "de-shedding" our cat and dog. Dramatically easier to use and removes more hair more quickly than our old traditional brush (pad with rows of wire teeth). On first use, I was astonished at how much hair it pulled off of our cat. She actually seemed to enjoy it (or least, not hate it) and her coat felt incredibly soft afterwords. Highly recommended! My cat has hyperthyroidism and is on medication. How coat was all matted and I did not want to put him under for grooming to remove them since he is almost 16. Took a chance and bought this. Glad I did. We try to use it everyday. We have been using it for over 2 weeks and with a combination of pulling out the mats with our hands and this....he is free of them and he seems to be getting back to his old self. I think they were causing him great discomfort. So, I am glad I took the chance on this. He loves to be groomed with this. Just go tenderly and slowly. We don't use the comb much . I recently rescued a German Shepherd puppy and boy can he shed! My other dog brush was just not cutting it for his coat. I haven't used the flat comb yet but the brush/ comb is amazing. This brush is made of magic and unicorn dust. Works on my Corgi and Texas Heeler and extracts the undercoat perfectly. Tried it on the cats, gets rid of loose hairs and gently loosened a couple mats that would have otherwise need shaved. This brush is ridiculously amazing.

I've bought 4 or 5 different brushes or combs that didn't work and was so delighted when I tried these. We haven't been able to use the comb much because of the thick coats my dogs have but the other tool is amazing! It pulls so much of the undercoat out- when I was done the fur pile was huge. If you have a dog that blows their coat, buy this. I can literally brush out clumps of hair. This is better and cheaper than the furminator brush. I think it works better at getting out dead matted undercoat. I have a leonberger, a wolfhound, and a Pyrenees and it works great on all of them.
