I was skeptical of this product as I have a lot of fur brushes for my fur kids. I have 2 cats with fluffier fur that is constantly matted and just difficult to brush. When I received this, I immediately used it on the one and it did get several matts out of his fur along with a lot of extra fur. I was extremely happy. The other cat is much older and has not been grooming herself. She is sleeping in the litter box constantly, so her fur is just nasty. Even with following the directions, the larger, thicker, nastier matted hair will not come out. Honestly I do not think this is the fault of the brush. I tried this on both dogs (lab and German Shepherd mix) and was surprised at the amount of fur this was taking off of them. Since their fur is different, most brushes don't get a lot off. I was very impressed. I used on my remaining 3 Domestic short hair cats and also was able to remove a lot of fur. Way more than expected on the one as she never leaves much fur behind when I pet her. All of the pets were ok with the brush and didn't yelp in pain etc. I have that with 2 of the brushes we have. I would definitely buy this again. Still looking for something that will take out nasty matted fur.

there are two sides to this tool as it states, and you'll need to be careful not to angle the grooming tool at too much of an angle using on your pet. While the teeth are not razor sharp, if you put this in at a 45 degree or greater angle to the pets skin, you risk digging the edge of the teeth in while attempting to dethatch the underlying coat. It works well and you will be able to tell , the next time you go to use it on your pet, if they have a good or mixed reaction to the pulls and tugs you create with this. It works well and serves its function, just be conscious of how aggressive you are when pulling it thru their coat.

This is the first time I’ve used a dematting brush, tried it on my dog and with care it worked its way through some tangles he had with apparently no discomfort to him. I anticipate that there will be a bit of a learning curve to using this properly, which is why I awarded it 4 stars. I need, through trial & error, to learn the best way to use this. It seems like a very well made product with a comfortable handle.

Product: Staltwo Pet Grooming Supplies Deshedding Brush I have a corgi mix dog that has a double coat. It sheds daily, but as he’s currently a puppy with short hair, the shedding around the house is tolerable, but I expect him to start shedding a lot more when winter rolls around and him growing bigger. I brush him regularly with a regular grooming brush from the pet store, or with my fingers, but barely any hair falls out. I notice an increase in hair volume when I use this deshedding brush, so I believe it’s doing the trick quite well, and I like the more controlled hair-shedding session during a nice brushing session than hair flying around the house as he wanders around. I had to look up which side is 17 and which is 9 as both look very similar to me. The rounder/more curled side is 9 (for dematting/detangling), and the flatter side is 17 (for deshedding). I wish the indication is clearer on the brush, but so far I don’t see any noticeable difference while using either side of the tool while brushing my puppy, so they might be completely interchangeable. The edges are not sharp, but I still think gentle brushing is necessary while using the tool. Overall, a 5/5 brush, as long as I can keep it out of my puppy’s mouth as he wants to eat everything.

We have 8 kitties and 1 large dog so, naturally, shedding is always a big issue. I have multiple pet brushes and vaccum daily but there are still occasional clouds of hair floating about. I was very curious to try this brush because it looks different than the other brushes I own. When this brush came, I literally did a few passes on several of my cats - and each time enough hair was collected to make a whole new cat! It's truly amazing. The amount of hair it removes is unreal - and the cats very much enjoy the massage. It's also great for helping loosen and removing mats from the fur. I was able to quickly remove several mats instead of cutting them off as I usually do - and this process was not painful for the cat, which is paramount. I've also noticed that my shorter haired cats shed more than the longer haired cats, who just tend to be more prone to matting. I absolutely love this brush. It's so easy to use, clean and disinfect. I'm happy that using this brush will also minimize hairballs (as the cats will swallow a lot less hair when grooming themselves). 10/10!

We have a great Pyrenees golden retreiver cross. Beautiful almost regal looking 1.5 yo male with the most gorgeous white blonde locks. As amazing as he is, this dog happens to shed more than any animal I've come across yet. You can't exist near him without wearing his fur, eating his fur, or finding his fur in a child or younger animals mouth. I've found fur in baked goods, after washing and drying, on the rug and couches... it's everywhere. He is brushed every other evening if not nightly, and for over an hour while decompressing with a nice TV show before bed. Regardless, his hair keeps turning up everywhere. He is brushed so much that running his brush through him wasn't leaving much hair in the brush, even though it's everywhere else. I ran this brush through his silky fur once and I was absolutely shocked at how much of his undercoat came out. In 5 brushes from shoulder to hind quarters, I got more hair than I do after an hour of brushing. I'm so impressed with this brush and really hope it helps with keeping some of the hair out of everyone's faces.
