  • Cute and it works.
My violin teacher has one of these on her violin. It seemed to be much more convenient than the other larger tuner that doesn't attach to the fiddle. It was just one more thing to get out of the case and to find a place for. With this style, I can leave it attached. It's not obtrusive. I just put it next to the next on the body so I can easily see it when holding the violin. it is completely adjustable and locks down gently with a little lever. It's nice for a beginner like me, not only for initial tuning, but it also helps me make sure I'm hitting the right spots on the neck as I'm playing. I comes with the battery installed. I just pulled the protective tab and it started working. It has a nice bright readout and seems to be very accurate compared to my other tuner. You can change it from 440 by pushing the arrow buttons. Has a soft touch on/off switch. A very nice tuner overall. ... show more

  • Great for monitoring accuracy of intonation while playing!
This little tuner clips on easily to the violin next to the fingerboard, and it is great for tuning the violin. In addition, if you leave it on, you can monitor your finger position as you are playing to learn the basic finger positions for each note on the strings. The only drawback is that the tuner automatically turns itself off after 10 minutes, so you do have to turn it back on if you still need it while practicing. I’m a beginner at violin, and I have found that this little device has been helping me memorize the correct placement for each note. It can stay on the violin indefinitely, because the violin fits easily into the case even while the tuner is on the violin. One other little drawback is that, for some reason, once in a while, the tuner arbitrarily dislodges itself from the violin, and I have to secure it again. This could have something to do with my thumb touching the back of the tuner where the little lever clamps shut to secure it to the violin. In any case, it’s a workable “problem” that is probably user-error, so I won’t take off any stars for that. In general, I am very happy with this tuner. It is highly accurate, and such a helper for my violin progress! ... show more

  • Convenient and hard to lose
I like that this tuner stays on my violin and actually bought one for each of my three violins that I play out with. As with any electronic tuner, you still have to use your ear, but these are as accurate as any, they get you close enough and your instrument and ear will provide the rest. Best of all, there is no hunting for your tuner in your case or in the area, it is tight there on your instrument and these don’t loosen very much. From time to tie it will fall off in the case, especially where the case is snug on your instrument, but they stay on very well. I recommend this tuner. ... show more

  • Does not have metronome!!
Great little product, its really is tiny! I’m getting back to playing violin after over 20 years not playing so I’m finding new (to me lol) things, like a tuner and metronome in one device 😜🤯 lol This little tuner works great if you just want a tuner, and it’s the first purpose I bought it for. But I’m disappointed because the video description was misleading, made me think there’s also a metronome function on this tuner. That’s why 4 stars. Its Amazon’s fault and not necessarily the brands fault. After I got my tuner I did some research, and the model that does have it has a little button with an “m” on it. Also, the description states the wrong battery size. It’s not the CR123a lithium size. It’s the CR2032 button battery. I ordered the wrong batteries along with the tuner and I have no use for the batteries so will return them. I’m still deciding if I should return the tuner and get the one with the metronome. But every one I’ve seen says it’s for guitar and not violin, not sure if it will still work on violin or not. Did Daddario stop making the model with the metronome for violin? ... show more

  • Works well for violin
I have purchased many other tuners that say they will work for violin, but were truly designed for a guitar and don't fit my violin well. This tuner fits well and I was able to just leave it on my instrument, even in the case, so I don't ever have to go digging for it. Very useful when there is too much other noise around me to hear myself clearly when tuning. ... show more
