I ordered these headphones because the audio jack in my work laptop stopped working, but the USB plugs are still good. Since we can’t use WiFi on work laptops, I had to get something wired. I wasn’t sure what to expect as I had never used USB headphones before, so these are a good start. These are not what I would consider high quality headphones, but they manage to meet or exceed all of my expectations for what I need them to do. I can hear the audio very well, and the microphone picks up my voice without having to change my speaking style. I did not expect them to be noise canceling (and they aren’t), but they get the job done. The microphone mute switch on the cord is handy for turning the mic on and off when speaking or not. The volume control on the same piece as the mute switch is good for other speakers who don’t understand just how close or far they should be from their own microphone. I bought this to replace a Koss headset that is no longer available. I participate in online gaming and I use discord while playing online. This headset is as good as and maybe even better than many others I've paid two or three times as much for. *They are light weight: I do not like so many gaming headsets because they are super heavy and the tension in the headband gives me a nasty headache. *They are not hot to wear: Many gaming headsets are just plain uncomfortable because they're hot to wear. *The sound is terrific--I can hear every sound in SMITE arena, 7 Days and WoW--a lot of them I never knew I was missing because I just couldn't hear them at all. *The folks on Discord sound so clear, it's like having them sitting right next to me. Sometimes, maybe a little too close... *The folks on Discord say I sound equally clear to them, so the mic is doing a good job with pick-up *They do muffle most sounds around me (the vacuum cleaner did make it through over the game sounds) so I am not distracted while playing or while in a meeting for work. *They do not have enhanced bass--and I think this is a great feature! The bass range can make understanding the human voice through a headset difficult, so I'm very glad to be without bass boost. *I bought a spare set the next day because I like the sound/weight/functionality so well, but I also know that USB cords have a finite life span, especially when one raises puppies.     • Sounds good, cancels noise, hurts my ears

This headset does cancel noise, and the sound is clear. That part is fine. For the not-so-fine parts: they're really tight, and they cancel noise almost too well. The tightness: Right away, I felt that they squeezed my ears too much. I left them to stretch across several hard-bound books for a few days which loosened them up for a while, but they eventually go back to their original tightness that I can't wear them for more than 15 minutes at a time. My ears get squashed and they hurt to leave on, and I don't even have a big melon head! The noise-cancelling: While they do block out outside noise, they cancel my own voice out too, and I feel like I'm talking into a blanket by myself - I can barely hear myself talk. It's very disconcerting. All in all, if they weren't so darn tight, I think I'd like them better. I had to dock 1.5 stars because of the physical discomfort, and .5 star for the talking-into-an-echoless-void factor. The sound quality is good, though. So, if you have a smallish head, and you like having all the outside sound shut out, they may work for you. ... show more

These CA headphones are a super solid purchase at this price point. If you're looking for a straightforward, basic headset you cannot do better than these. They are simple and they are sturdy, reliable, provide clear sound in both directions. The ear cushioning is comfortable and creates substantial noise isolation - we use these in a fairly crowded open-office environment and find that they allow people to be on calls at the same time right near each other without causing distraction. One note is that they come in both 3.5mm plug and USB plug so make sure you order the right ones. These are now my go-to when anyone in my office needs a new headset. ... show more

    • Bought for Nintendo Switch (docked), but looking for something else.

I purchased this headset because the old USB one I had was falling apart and I play games online with some family members on my Nintendo Switch. This worked ok for voice chat although the mute button seems to create some odd noise on their end... I switch it to Mute and the game shows me still talking. At least one person has also reported a constant buzzing sound when I'm unmuted. It annoyed them so much that I just stopped using the headset altogether. I guess maybe the "classroom" in the title should have been a hint, but these are obviously made for kid-sized heads. They're small and very tight. It gets painful after a while, moreso if you are wearing earrings. I don't hear big hoopy earrings or anything, just basic studs, but the padding on these headphones is so miniscule that the speaker pods are pressed into my ears with enough force to jam the backs of my earrings into my neck. It just hurts. Trying to adjust them only made the circle shape slightly bigger which meant the band didn't fit on my head and it'd just slip off. But even at this "loose" setting the ear pods were still pressing into my ears with enough force to keep them on. The boom mic is not 'adjustable' as they stated. Yeah, you can spin it up or down, but you can't adjust the angle with which it protrudes from the headset. So the adjustment options I had were pressed into my cheek, hitting my jawbone, rubbing my collar or pressed into my temple. Again, these are obviously made for smaller heads and should be marketed for children, not "office" or "work from home" people. I'm looking for a better option that will allow me to play without having to constantly adjust to keep blood flow to my ears. ... show more

I ordered this to use with my Dragon transcription software. I was using a fairly high and gaming had set for my dictation and had tried other had sats and they were constantly making mistakes like substituting "he" for "she". This headset is considerably more accurate and is saving me a lot of time and I am not finding the horrendous "Dragon errors" in my progress notes since changing over. It was just the thing for me.
