The gel makes it very comfortable and helps to retain its shape nicely. Attractive design on exterior of mattress; no odor after opening from the vacuum sealed bag and mattress opened to its natural shape in very little time. No one has slept on it yet but it is very comfortable to sit on. I order a custom-size mattress for a cot I built for my RV. With arthritic hips, a recent camping trip yielded sleepless nights and stiffness/pain in the mornings. Ready to sell the RV, I thought I'd try one more thing--a better mattress. So, taking a chance, I contacted Customize Bed Inc. who immediately responded. Immediately, not days later. "YES, the could make any size I wanted, and YES I could have 6" very firm, with 2" very soft topping." I placed the order on a Friday and they shipped on Monday!!! I was kinda shocked. Well, REALLY shocked. I started thinking they were just shipping standard stock. I looked forward to its arrival with trepidation that I'd have to try to figure out how to return it .... yada yada yada. Welp, it arrived on Wednesday, fit my custom space PERFECTLY, is very well made, not a piece of foam--this is an actual mattress!!! So, off I went camping! So I scoured the reviews on this product and all of the best reviews SEEMED to come from getting the 10 inch model as opposed to the 6 or 8 inch which were a mixed bag. I ordered, showed up in a box, idk if its due to the size but it expanded fast, like almost immediately, I guess because it's foam. I didn't even wait the full 48 hours. I tried it out 12 hours later as the mattress looked totally full and good to go. And....I love it. 50x better than the mattresses that came with the rv. Pretty firm but it's foam so it kind of envelops you ever so slightly. I've only slept on it for three nights so far but if it manages to retain this firmness and comfort for even six more months; I'll be pretty pleased. Will try to remember to update later if it dies on me sooner than that. ... show more

I need customized mattress for my narrow twin bed. I made the bed. I search online to find 32x74. Google take me to this bed. I didn’t pay attention and didn’t noticed it’s 30”. I thought it’s 32”. Later before they ship I asked them if they can send me 32”. I was thinking to cancel. They said there is little price difference and ask me how do I pay. I said I can send PayPal or check. Also I mention it’s for my cancer patient daughter and gap can bother her. Later they didn’t contact me. I asked and they said they already shipped 32x74. Even though it was showing they created shipping label but not give carrier yet. But I didn’t care and said it’s OK. They will send the size I wanted. I was sure because the said so. Mattress come 30x74. 😏 I throw the bed I made and buy ready metal base. I paid $75 extra for that and $40 I spend to make bed go to the garbage. It is impossible to build again. I made it to fit the space I have. Expect the didn’t hold their promises about size, mattress is good quality. We need time to see better. But looks promising. If they send 32” it’s deserve 5 star. But honesty important for me. I told them if it’s come 30” i will return it back. I didn’t. It’s hard to do it. I can’t carry ans lose a business day. I have a sick child to take care of and work. I bought this mattress in April for my son after moving into a new house with a built in platform bed in his upstairs room. We already owned a twin size which he loved and insisted he only wanted the same type for the full size we now needed. I often find myself laying in his bed while waiting for him for our nightly routine and could easily fall asleep because it so comfortable! Our house guest last night who suffers from debilitating arthritis woke this morning saying she had absolutely no hip pain from sleeping on the now guest bed twin size. She followed up with me after arriving back home to find out where I had gotten it as she was going to purchase one herself! I’ve considered purchasing a slightly thinner foldable version for our camping trips as I also have arthritis and the current actually memory foam topper I use is starting to really show its wear. Over all we have 2 twins and a Full size of these mattresses all placed in solid platforms of slated buck beds, no box springs for any of them and have had zero complaints from the kids or guests! ... show more

This is quite simply the most comfortable bed in a box I have ordered and we have three in our home. The price is right, the size is just as stated in their ad (I purchased the cot size), the mattress is firm enough to support your body and yet soft enough to protect you from suffering from pressure points. The cover is nicely sewn and from quality fabric. I spent my first night on this last night, I awoke feeling rested. We bought this mattress for our RV. At first it was very comfortable, but after a few months it started to lose its firmness and cave in in the middle. Now, after just over a year and only about 60 nights worth of use, the mattress is completely ruined. And for the record, I am not an exceptionally large person. I weigh 160lbs. The center part where I lay is squished down to nothing and leaves a big hole when I get up. For the price, I was expecting a lot more durability and better quality.
