The pitcher arrived with out the spoon. This was the tipping point between this and another pitcher that I was considering so that kind of sucks. I will have to go get something to stir with now which defeated the point in choosing this pitcher. The material feels pretty cheap. I doubt it is actually stainless steel. ... show more

    • Easy to use and clean, but don't use on a hot plate!
I enjoyed using this until I used it on a hot plate and burned off parts of the the green coating on the bottom. My other aluminum pots do not have that coating and work perfectly fine on a hot plate, so I incorrectly assumed this would as well. So definitely always use it with a double-boiler setup. Also, the description says you can use it for 2.3lb of candles at a time, but when the wax is still in flake form you can really only start with about 1 lb, and that's with the flakes being piled high on top. To do more, you have to weigh additional wax separately and then add it in gradually after the first bit has started to melt down. That's the only reason I gave it four stars. ... show more

Like: small, cheap - Now, I know what I want/need. Great for beginners. Dislike: So light it floats in small amount of water. Tried using a Frying pan and steam burned me more than the amount of heat that melted the wax. Use a white ceramic coated pan for the water dish that got stained light pink during use. So the red does come off. However, the water pan is fine, and the RED on the melter looks the same?? It is small. I can only melt 1/2 pound in this. YES, I have put one pound of wax in. But when it BEGINS to melt you will have to stir slowly or lose some wax over the top. And it is hard to stir without making a mess because the flakes are clumping up. I use wax flakes... So if you use a different wax maybe this wont happen. ... show more
