We have a pair of induction cook tops and have tried several brands and done a lot of research before landing on the ones we ended up purchasing. They all excelled in their reviews and performance and this cook top compares very favorably to them. It is a very similar design and size and while none of the cook tops work exactly the same. once you figure out the peculiarities of your particular cook top you really get used to it quickly and they are a joy to use. This one is no exception. We haven't gotten deeply into testing temperature consistency and repeatability and that sort of thing, but we did do a head-to-head test between this cook top and our primary one using the same pan to cook the same brand of bacon and the only real difference is the power scale on this cook is higher than on our other hooked up. Meaning that a level 5 on our main cook top is more equivalent to a level 3 on this cook top. This is one of those things that with a little bit of experience you'll figure out and it won't be an issue. We really like having another cook top and this sort of thing will come in handy when we have a party and we need to keep something warm on the table that's not in the kitchen. This just plugs into any outlet and you're up and running. No complaints.

1800 watts is on the high side for a single induction cook top,which is a good thing. 👍 I use this while doing kitchen renovation, come in so handy and boils water fast ! Just make sure you have magnetic bottom pots and pans ,otherwise it won't work.

I am not new to the induction cooktop, so I can speak from a position of experience. This cooktop heats my cast iron cookware to the point where it's untouchable within a few seconds. Gotta love that speed. I must add, as a word of caution, that I am not able to use most of my cookware with this unit. I have the Green Pan cookware, and because of the design of this cookware (the alloys used) it does not work with the induction cooktop. If you are using stainless steel or cast iron cookware, this induction cooktop is awesome. Just make sure your cookware fits within the parameters of this cooktop. For example, my large stainless steel skillet (14") does not work with this cooktop. Having both induction and gas cooking at my disposal, I default to gas. Maybe that's because I have been doing this way for decades? Either way, I do break out the induction cooktop when needed, and I do like it. This model serves my needs well.
