  • Fit, finish and weld joints are beautiful
1. Packaging is robust and protects product well 2. Finish and weld joints are nice 3. Directions were fine… but a lot of great YouTube videos available. 4. Biggest issue was that the pre-drilled and threaded holes (4 of them) in my 6 year old car were very rusted. I recommend that you have Thread chaser to clean rusted threads. 5. Bottom line is product is excellent and I recommend. ... show more

  • Great hitch for a good oeice
Installed on 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe sport 2.0. Local place wanted $475 so figure I would save $275 to install it myself. Took about 3 hours to install the hitch and hook up the enclosed wiring. I don’t install a lot of car parts so somebody who is more of a mechanic I am sure it would take a lot less. The wiring was super easy and the two plugs where exactly where the instructions said behind the driver rear wheel. There were Some protective caps on them and just pulled them off and plugged in the harness. The easiest part of the job. I’d I had to install another one I could probably do it in half the time. I did have to remove the plastic undercarriage protectors and drop the exhaust just like the instructions said. ... show more

  • Missing harness, does not fit 2018 Santa Fe Sport, no support from CURT
The hitch part of this item is five stars. It's extremely sturdy, looks great, and fits perfectly. But I won't give this more than one star because the wiring harness has been nothing but trouble, and it doesn't actually fit any version of the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport - at least not the 2018 model year. This is all very confusing, but I've slogged through it so you don't have to, and I'll do my best to explain everything clearly. The hitch included in this package is CURT 13152. It fit my 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport perfectly, and I understand that it also fits the non-Sport models. No problem there. However, in theory, there are 4 possible harnesses that might be required to get your particular Santa Fe set up for trailer lighting. They would match the Sport or non-Sport models, either with or without the trailer pre-wiring package (4 potential combinations). Mine is the Sport model WITH the trailer pre-wiring package. That's where the manufacturer has already run wiring from the vehicle's battery and tail lights into a pair of handy connectors located under the driver's side rear bumper. If you don't know if you have it, you can get under the vehicle and pop off a few plastic body panel rivets that hold a black plastic cover in place, and you'll either see them there (meaning you do have the trailer pre-wiring package) or you won't (meaning you do NOT have the package). Or, you can call a Hyundai dealership and give them your VIN, and they should be able to tell you if you have the trailer pre-wiring package. If you have any Sport model (pre-wiring package or not), or if you have a non-Sport model WITHOUT the trailer pre-wiring package, you'll need the CURT 56184 harness. That's a much larger harness with a much more involved installation process, where you basically have to duplicate what the manufacturer does with the pre-wiring package. That is NOT the harness that's included with this Amazon item. You'll need to order a CURT 13152 hitch and a CURT 56184 harness separately. That covers 3 of the 4 potential combinations. Only if you have the 4th combination, a non-Sport model WITH the trailer pre-wiring package, then this IS the Amazon item you need. It comes with the CURT 13152 hitch and the CURT 56332 harness, the latter of which is a shortened harness that is much simpler to install - it just plugs into the connectors you already have under your driver's side rear bumper. CURT does NOT make a shorter, more convenient harness for the Sport model akin to the CURT 56332 that comes with this Amazon item and works only with the non-Sport model. The reason, as I discovered, is that the connectors are incompatible and thus won't connect to each other. I asked the tech if I can just cut off the mismatched connectors and splice the wires, which seems like it should work, and I'm waiting to hear back. To make things worse, like several other reviewers, this item was first shipped to me without any wiring harness at all. There was evidence that a harness had been inside the box at some point, but the box had been opened and the harness apparently removed. So I lugged it back to UPS and crossed my fingers that a replacement wouldn't just have the same issue. Fortunately, the replacement box was unopened and did contain a harness. Unfortunately, as I've explained above, it was not the correct harness, and I didn't know that until I'd already installed the hitch. Now I have to hope that Amazon will exchange my harness for the one I actually need, because CURT refused to help me out. The alternatives are to either remove the hitch and return it with the harness for a refund, or to just buy the CURT 56184 harness out of pocket so I can be done with this mess. Hopefully that sheds a bit of light on whether this really is what you need. Amazon's "Confirmed Fit" feature was wrong in my case. A couple final notes: While the written instructions could be more clear, they're not too bad, and there's a clear illustration of how everything fits together. Make sure you're familiar with that illustration before you get started, because the written steps get fairly ambiguous about what goes where. Specifically, I was confused by the use of the word "plate," which they use both to refer to the vertical parts of the hitch that are bolted to the vehicle's frame, and to the small piece that's used opposite one of those plates on the passenger side of the vehicle to capture the square shoulder of the larger bolts. I ended up installing it on the wrong side, and had to switch it once I reviewed the illustration. I would also recommend cutting the bumper alignment pins rather than bending them, as they're very sturdy and very hard to bend - partly because there's no obvious place to get enough leverage on them to make them budge. I used a cordless oscillating multi-tool (Makita XMT03Z) with a metal-cutting blade, and that worked great. You could also use a hacksaw with a metal blade, but a reciprocating saw won't work well because these pins are very close to the frame, and the stroke length of the saw is too long for such a tight space. You'll end up jabbing the frame and just nicking the pins each time as the saw bounces around. I used to buy CURT's version of everything towing-related because they've been solid products and I hadn't had any problems until now - but I'm likely done with that habit after having dealt with their customer support, which basically sent me a "sucks to be you" response after I explained my predicament. Thanks a lot, CURT! Good luck. ... show more

  • Easy to install!
I love how Hyundai makes it so easy to install an aftermarket tow package. Several bolts on each side, perfectly matched with the cars sub frame, the wiring harness is "plug and play" right behind the driver's side rear tire. From start to finish I had this installed by myself in an hour (getting tools ready and cleanup included) on my 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited Ultimate. My only complaint is I expected it to be hidden by the drop cover of the bumper. But it shows still below that cover as you can see in the picture. ... show more

  • A great quality and great priced product.
Make sure you have someone to help lift into place or have some type of jack/support. I used some construction Third Hand tools - They allow you to lift an item and keep it in the position you want.
