I think this is a good deal for the price. It works well and seems to have good build quality and good welds. Good class 10.9 metric and grade 8 yellow zinc hardware. I installed this on my 2001 Silverado 2500hd 6.0 4x4 ext cab long bed. Something you may have read about if you looked into Curt hitch receivers is that they commonly come slightly bent. As did mine. One of the arms that bolts to the frame had a noticeable bend in it, possibly due to the fact that these receivers are shipped without any packaging. They just slap a shipping label on it and send it out. As a result, mine had a fairly large amount of scratches from shipping. I don't know if the bent arm happened during shipping or manufacturing. I was able to straighten it out and install. Next problem, the conical washers were slightly too small for the m14 bolts and had to be drilled out a bit. Minor annoyance. Finally, there's no factory provision to install a trailer plug which I feel should be installed by default. Due to these issues, I spent more like 1.5hours installing rather than the 30 minutes it should take. I still need to order and install a trailer plug bracket as well, which could add another hour to total install time. ... show more

The hitch seems to be everything I wanted, well built and well finished. The hardware that came for the install wasn't what it should be that's the reason for the four star rating.

I had to go through several attempts but Curt came through like a champ. I had previously ordered other hitch receivers from 2 other suppliers. Between bad packaging and missing parts....total headache. Curt came through first order!! Excellent hitch, it is as labeled (class 4) and is just as the supplier said it was!! Curt, from now on my go to for hitches and receivers!!! ... show more
