I had an old stand mixer from the 40's when Hobart was becomming Kitchen-Aid. I replaced the grease in the head of it at one point, and, from that point on, it had no "low speed" option, and would intermittently howl while being used. I reluctantly decided it was time to replace, and did so with this. I am happy with it in its own right, and I am happy with it as a replacement for my old workhorse. While I was at it, I got the ice cream maker, meat grinder, and "spiralizer" attachments, after confirming that Kitchen-Aid attachments were compatible with Cuisinart. I've enjoyed the ice cream maker, I love the splash guard, and I am looking forward to making sausage and zoodles in the near future. Powerful, quiet, easy to use, no complaints at all. ... show more

When I was in the market for a stand mixer, I was researching different brands. I noticed my daughter has this Cuisinart brand and she said it worked well for her. "That other brand" (you know the one) gave me sticker shock, so I gave this one a chance between reading the reviews and knowing someone that has it and uses it. So glad I did! No complaints from me and I have used it regularly for the last year. I have used this for cream cheese fillings, batters, and a bread dough that requires 20 + minutes of mechanical mixing. Dough hook works as expected. The mixer stays put while working the batch of dough at the required medium low to medium setting and does not walk across my counter. Same with the batter and cream cheese filling using the paddle. Whisk worked well egg whites, which is the only time I have used it. However, you will need to scrape down the sides of the bowl from time to time as the paddle does not have a built-in scraper. Over longer singular dough mixing sessions, does get warm (as expected), but does not overheat. Able to take attachments, though I have not had the opportunity to try this feature out yet. ... show more

My Kitchenaid Pro 600 mixer finally broke down, after countless batches of cookies and cinnamon rolls. Needing a replacement, I decided to go with the Cuisinart, even though it has a slightly smaller capacity. I am planning to get an 8 quart mixer in the near future, but figured this was a good stop gap. I was a bit concerned on how it would handle double batches of my cookie dough recipes. It actually did pretty good, with some possible concerns. The Good: It handled the dough fine, with some minor slowing at the lower end of the speed range. The paddle blade did a nice job of mixing all the ingredients. The blade has a better finish than the Kitchenaid, so it was much easier to clean off after mixing. The tilt head made it easier to use a spoon to check that all ingredients were mixed. The mixer is shorter than my Kitchenaid, so it does tuck away under my cupboards much nicer. The bad: The guard to keep the dry ingredients from flying out, is more decorative than functional. The slot is so narrow, that as much flour ends up on top of the guard, as it does in the bowl. You will need to pour very slow. The controls are at the back on the right side. It may seem to be convenient, but if you need to add ingredients while adjusting speed, you are out of luck. That is a big plus on the Kitchenaid, plus the lever as opposed to the dial on this machine is more convenient. The machine handled the dough fine, but the motor seemed pretty warm by the end. I have doubts this will last the 10 plus years of my Kitchenaid. Final thoughts: A very good value for the money. I bake in fairly large quantities, so I am pushing the limits of this mixer. If you do mainly single batches with an occasional double batch, this is a very nice mixer. ... show more

I purchased in red and it is beautiful. It is a heavy mixer well built and performs well. It is digital and it took me a little while to get used to that but I really like it now. When it starts mixing, it starts out on low and gradually builds up so that mixture doesn’t fly all over. It also has a guard for the top which I use and love. It comes with two bowls, Which was a surprise to me. I would recommend this for a purchase for yourself or as a gift. ... show more
