I got my first Kitchenaid from my dad for my 16th birthday. I am a serious baker with culinary training. It was well loved for over 20 years but the locking mechanism in the head finally gave out and I needed a replacement. I’d been hearing that the newer Kitchenaids aren’t as reliable as they used to be and I just couldn’t stomach the price tag, so I decided to take a chance on this one and I’m so glad I did! I waited a couple months to write a review because it is different and took a little getting used to. My favorite thing is how quiet it is! I tend to bake while my family is watching TV at night, and I can easily mix without bothering them now. The bowl is also bigger than the standard Kitchenaid. Last night I mixed a double batch of cheesecake - 8 blocks of cream cheese and 8 eggs - and it handled it just fine. Some reviewers mentioned the whisk doesn’t reach the bottom of the bowl, and technically that’s true if you only have like 1 or 2 egg whites in the bowl. But to be fair that’s not what it’s meant for. If you’re whipping 1 egg white you should use a hand mixer or a whisk. When mixing a normal size recipe I find it incorporates the ingredients very well. You will have to scrape the sides of the bowl sometimes but that is true of all mixers. I have found the dough hook to be more effective than the Kitchenaid. It incorporates flour more effectively and the dough doesn’t creep up the hook as much. It is lighter weight and easier to move, but heavy enough for stability. The head bounces a little bit when mixing and it concerned me at first, but now I’m wondering if it’s by design to keep from putting undue pressure on the motor when it meets resistance, like a chunk of cold butter. It’s hasn’t caused any problems. I like the smooth operation of the dial, and the slow start feature that helps prevent flour from flying when you turn it on. The splash guard is also really well designed. This did take some getting used to because you can’t lift the beater in and out without taking the guard off, but it’s very easy to remove & replace and it’s worth using because the ingredient chute works really well. The head locks in the upright position so you don’t have to worry about it accidentally slamming down. I really hope this mixer lasts a long time. I am very pleased with the quality! ... show more

I was torn between this and the Kitchenaid. I am glad I went with the Cuisinart. All my cookware is Cuisinart and most of my small appliances are too so this fit right in. The price was the deciding factor. I do love that it can use all of the Kitchenaid power port attachments and the blue matches my kitchen perfectly. So far I have made butter, whipped cream and bread and this machine had done a great job. I wish I had gotten a stand mixer years ago. I read some reviews where people complained about the mixer moving but I have not had this issue. Also, it isn’t any louder than my old hand mixer. It makes the job so much easier than a hand mixer. So far so good. I read a lot of reviews before deciding to make the leap, so i hope this helps someone. I don't bake enough to justify the $400 mixer but I still wanted a good stand mixer for the times i do bake. The price point in this machine was great. I think i caught it on sale. It's a beautiful blue color and instantly added a pop to my kitchen. It works well. I did, based off of reviews, immediately see if the head needed adjusting and it did. I did the dime test to make sure it was the right height. It took a little elbow grease to turn the screw. If you've got arthritis, I'd recommend someone else attempting the adjustment. After that though it was great. I've only make cookies but i noticed how much creamier the butter sugar mixture was with this machine. ... show more

Love it. Made my first batch of homemade peanut butter cookies. It’s pretty quiet and powerful. I had no issues with the beat paddle scraping the bottom of the bowl. All ingredients were mixed to perfection. Next time I’ll refrigerate the dough over night and reduce the amount of butter. The attachments are easy to use and I like how big the bowl is. It is very heavy and takes up quite a bit of counter space. I wanted something easy to use but powerful and not as expensive as Kitchenaid. Periwinkle color is a nice pop. The media could not be loaded. The product is good looks. It's good to have color options. Blue is my favorite color and its beautiful. The mixer is strong and heavy. 5.5 qt is a good size to get one loaf bread. Mostly the dough sticks to the hook. But easy to take it out. I bake bread weekly and the mixer is very helpful. I can do other things while it is mixing the dough. Price is good. Item is good. ... show more

For years I used a hand mixer thinking I really didn't need anything more. I realized that I could do so much more with a nice stand mixer. So glad I purchased this. It is fairly heavy and solid, and easy to use. The only drawback I see is not being able to use a spatula around the inside on the bowl while mixing.
