Price and quality giod

I wanted a powerful mixer that wasn't too heavy and that had a slow speed that was truly slow. I primarily use a mixer for baking, as I think most of us do. Yes, it has a slow speed; HOWEVER, it first starts off fast and then goes down to slow. This makes no sense! You want to start slow so flour, etc., doesn't go flying everywhere, not let the flour fly and then have the speed go down. So if your priority in a mixer is getting one that has a truly slow first speed, don't buy this one. The mixer is powerful, so I'll give it that. There are some cookies I make each Christmas that have a very thick batter that caused a beloved previous GE cheapo mixer of mine to burn out. I then replaced it with a very powerful Hamilton Beach mixer, but that one was very heavy and was tiring on my shoulders to operate. This mixer isn't super heavy and it definitely has power and the upper speeds are indeed very fast. I have mixed feelings about the wire beaters. Yes, they are very easy to clean without the center post, but it takes me forever to cream butter and even longer to cream butter and sugar together. No matter what, I am left with little pellets instead of a light and fluffy mix. And the latest problem that has me PO'd is that the power switch gets stuck! I've only had it for about a year and have used it no more than 15 to 20 times. This is ridiculous. I've been able to get it unstuck but with difficulty, and a few times I have had to unplug the unit to get it to stop. It has a feature which allows you to pull it back from your bowl and rest it on the counter, but it leans too far back when resting. I wish it would rest such that the beaters were completely over the bowl. All in all, I wish I had purchased something else. This was not a cheap mixer and I thought the Cuisinart name meant it would be better quality. Boy, was I wrong. Final complaint: while the photo shows a lovely soft yellow, the actual color is a bright taxi-cab yellow.

Cuisinart is a good blender. Works well, blends smoothly, very little vibration. But, I do not like the yellow one. It is not the pretty buttery color you see in the photo, it’s a hideous neon yellow. Unfortunately I bought it several months ago and did not unpack it because I was going to be moving and decided to leave it in its packaging for safer travel, and now it’s too late to exchange it.

According to the advertised picture- the mixer was a pretty butter color but the one I received was a darker bold yellow- a little brighter in person compared to my photo…strike one. Then I tried the beaters, felt like cheap plastic when inserting. Strike 2. Then I tried the whisk attachment and it wobbled when turned on…and the eject tab is cheap plastic- strike 3. The quality is just not there for the price. I wish Cuisinart could produce quality items like the old days. Returning.
