  • Love it!
Color: White Pattern Name: Coffeemaker
I was so excited to finally get this coffee pot in! We have been without one for a week so I was desperate for it to be here. Very easy to setup. I love the reusable filter. We already brewed our first pot and it was quick! The hot plate stays very hot!

  • Fine Coffeemaker - Small Problem With Lid.
Color: Black Thermal Pattern Name: Coffeemaker
This coffeemaker is of excellent quality. It brews fine coffee in a thorough and useful manner. This is not an overly loud apparatus, and it is quite attractive in design. I use a rather expensive Dutch coffee and am happy to utilize this coffee maker in the brewing process. It produces a very tasteful coffee. The coffee container is well-insulated and it keeps the brewed coffee hot. There is only one problem - the lid is poorly designed. The center portion of the lid has a slight depression which fills with coffee when used, and fills with water after it is washed. The coffee or water spills into the cup into which you are pouring your coffee. This is messy and does not taste very good. Before the coffee is poured I must use a cloth or napkin to absorb any liquid remaining in the lid. This is unacceptable In a coffeemaker of such high quality and price, I will not return this coffeemaker as it produces very good coffee. But it is a bit irritating to be forced to always sop-up the excess liquid in the lid before pouring a cup of coffee. Cuisinart should redesign the lid of the coffeemaker. ... show more

  • Great Features
Color: White Pattern Name: Coffeemaker
This coffeemaker is very attractive and has lots of features that I really like such as a special setting when making only 1-4 cups, a permanent filter if you choose to use it, a timer to start brewing at a specific time, a tone that sounds when the machine is finished brewing or turning off, etc. The only flaw is the carafe has a poor design. There is an undercut around the rim so all of the coffee cannot dispense - it's a small amount, no big deal but when you clean it, the same thing happens. All of the soapy / rinse water doesn't come out so you literally have to use a towel to get all of the liquid out. ... show more

  • Don't bother with this model. It has far too many design flaws.
Color: Black Thermal Pattern Name: Coffeemaker
I hate writing a bad review but in this case I feel I must. I don't want others to have the same experience I have had with this coffee maker. We had a Cuisinart DTC-975BKN Programmable Automatic Brew-and-Serve 12-Cup Thermal Coffeemaker for two years and we loved it. Unfortunately one day it just quit working. When I tried to buy a replacement I found that it was now "unavailable". While the Cuisinart DCC-1170BK has less capacity it still appeared to be an acceptable replacement. I was wrong in that assumption. The electronics on this model are easier to use and the display is MUCH brighter. If you can get it out of the pot it also makes a good cup of coffee. That is all the good I can say about this model. Filling this thing with water is the first challenge. The area you have available to add water to the maker is a small triangular spot in the back right side. It sits just under the sprayer lid and next to the cone you place the coffee into. It is a hard target to hit without getting something wet that you don't want wet. If you fill the pot with water and then attempt to pour that into the coffee maker you will find that you can only empty about 2/3 of the pot. The inside if the pot has a shoulder that allows the lid to be smaller. This prevents you from emptying the pot unless you almost completely invert it. You can't do that because the sprayer lid is in the way. So, to fill it, you add as much water as you can then go back from the pot and refill it again. Now you can continue to add water to the fill line. After that you must dump the remaining half-pot of water in the sink. It is also VERY easy to overfill the maker's tank because it sits in front of the fill gauge (they could have put it on the other side but they didn't). You can't see it while filling because the pot is in the way. The overflow hole on the back sits just above the Full marker on the gauge. There is VERY little room for error even though you can't watch the gauge as you are filling because of its location. If you don't stop in time it will overflow onto your counter. You also have to be very careful when moving the coffee maker once it is full of water or you will again get your counter wet because of this. That same issue with the pot design causes it to make a coffee mess when you try to fill a cup. To get the last of the coffee out of the pot it has to be inverted until it is almost upside down. At that point it is pouring coffee everywhere but in the cup. I'm VERY disappointed with Cuisinart releasing something with this many design flaws. They have done so much better in the past. ... show more

  • Good coffee stays warm!
Color: Black Thermal Pattern Name: Coffeemaker
This coffee maker is a little big for my small kitchen, but I wanted something that makes more than 3 cups. It’s hard to pour in the water with the carafe .. small opening in top of machine. BUT the flavor of coffee is very good, and stays warm for quite awhile! I also want to tell Amazon that the USPS did a lousy delivery job… no exterior protection for my pkg, and so the box containing my parcel was damaged & torn. Fortunately my coffee maker was not damaged! Don’t ship USPS!! ... show more

  • not a lot of other good options
Color: Black Thermal Pattern Name: Coffeemaker
What I like: I like that this is a carafe, not as easily broken as the last 3 glass coffee pots that I've broken in the sink. This one is less expensive than many others out there, though at around $100 I absolutely expected better. 1. Even when I heat the carafe for a half hour before brewing, the coffee does not stay hot for even an hour. I did better with a regular pot and putting the brew right into my zojirushi thermos. 2. The lid. Geez. Fooling around with it every time to try to get it on AND off is an annoyance. It eventually goes on but it is not smooth to use at all. 3. Overall, the coffee tastes "just ok." I have played around with different grinds, but in the end, the same (good) coffee tastes blah compared to the last pot I broke. 4. Size. We had a 5 cup pot that was just short of what we'd have liked. This pot is 10 cups, which is better than most which are 12 cups, just way too much for us. The only 8 cup thermal pot we could find was OXO and it was two hundred dollars, so this one is a compromise. Overall, I am cranky to spend $100 on a coffee pot and not be happy with it, but will keep it for now because it's the best option I can come up with. ... show more

Cuisinart never disappoints. I've owned Cuisinart coffee makers since 1990. They lasted a very long time. The thermal caraffe is a game changer. Keeps coffee hot without burning it with a heating plate.
