  • Perfect Popcorn
Color: Red
Easy to use and clean, makes plenty of popcorn and I am happy the brand is something I recognize and trust. It collapses to store flat but can collapse if you set it down too hard. I just am gentle with it and it doesn't give me trouble.

  • Life-changing for a Popcorn Aficionado
Color: Blue
I love this bowl. I'm a self-admitted popcorn snob. I use ACTUAL movie theater buttered oils and salt (Butter-Flav'd Soybean and Flavacol) to make DEAD ON movie theater popcorn (no "STYLE" about it... it's the REAL stuff). Until this, I used a countertop wire-spin popper from Dash and also one from Cuisinart with a dishwashable hotplate, but both of those poppers have sat unused since I got this one. It can't manage the volume of the machines, but when making popcorn for 1-4 people, it does really well without the extra setup of dragging out and cleaning up the machines. It's also faster needing only 2:10 in my 1100w Panasonic Inverter microwave (The best, BTW!) to pop about 1/2 cup of quality kernels like Orville or Pop Secret. Boutique kernels take a bit longer or burn in a microwave so you might want to pass on anything except good-ol' regular popping corn. The collapsible silicone bowl is really efficient to store, and super easy to clean, with residues just about wiping out with hot water and Dawn (absolute best for grease! They use it on oil spills for a reason!). I've noticed only a VERY minor bit or staining from the yellow coloring in the buttered oil, but nothing to really upset me. I just wanted to point it out. Does not affect use or effectiveness one bit! This is a cost-effective substitute for the ease of microwave corn with the ability to control everything about your popping experience, unlike bagged microwave popcorn. Just spend the money. ... show more

  • Low cal popcorn
Color: Red
If you are looking for a simple way to make lo-cal popcorn, this is it. Very easy to use and so far no burnt kernels. The corn fully pops and tastes good. The bowl is sturdy and lightweight with a flat bottom, also collapsible for easy storing.

  • Don't be swayed by the name! EDIT: Cannot be returned.
Color: Red
What a dud. We cleaned the unit as directed. Put a scant 1/4 cup of brand name (O.R.) popcorn and a small splash of the O.R. oil into the bowl. Put on the lid as directed and stuck it in my Kitchenaid built-in unit. Four minutes and we finally took it out despite virtually NO popping. Eighteen kernels popped out of 1/4 cup of expensive kernels. The unpopped stuff did not burn...they just sat there. Tried this three more times after cooling and wiping out the bowl as directed. LESS popped kernels. Took this thing over to a neighbor and tried it all over again in their microwave...using different, cheaper popcorn. NO CHANGE. Tried the neighbors on the other side and got the SAME results. Everyone was shocked that this was such a big name brand item. Evidently not for this gizmo. Going to carefully clean this up...no burning, no smell (almost no anything) and send it back to Amazon for a refund. This is ridiculous! Worthless piece of plastic. What a shame. ... show more

  • I've got good news and bad news
Color: Red
First the good news: This makes nice, crispy popcorn for me. I use Amish extra tiny white. Be ready to sacrifice a couple of batches to learn what your nuker does. I set mine on high for 3.5 minutes. There was no burning at that setting. If you're wise you'll undershoot the first time to avoid having a fire in your microwave. I wouldn't leave the area of the nuker. Now the not-so-good news: It's not the product's fault, but there's no oil to make salt stick, so unless you like your popcorn completely unflavored, you may not appreciate the crispy popcorn. Also, only half the kernels popped. This is comparable to that horrid stuff you get in little bags that calls itself "microwave popcorn". If you want to buy good popcorn to start with, there's a lot of expense. I ended up spraying a PAM-like oil on it to make the salt stick. So I might as well have used a Whirley-Pop with a bit of EVOO and saved all those unpopped kernels. Also, although the lid is a necessity, it is a burn hazard, not because it's hot, but when I removed it the first time, the steam from the popcorn burned my fingers. Be careful-use an oven mitt or a dishtowel or something! So, I'm ordering a Whirley-Pop. But not because this is a bad product--just personal preference and practicality. ... show more
