This is a great toaster! My last one was Hamilton Beach (800w) and you could cook a meal while waiting for the bread to toast! So, I was going to be sure my next toaster was faster! This toaster is 1200w and toasts beautifully and evenly. The slots are wide and great for homemade bread and bagels. I bought the charcoal color because it was a great price and it's in a location which isn't really seen in my kitchen, although it's really a very nice looking toaster, so it's a non issue. This is a very nice toaster. It is even browning and I can fit slices of my rustic loaf (long slices) in the opening whereas before only 2/3 of my slice would brown. Only had it for a month but it is working fine. No noticeable odors when I first tried it out (but I still ran a few tests on the porch just to be safe). One nice thing about this toaster is that it is very light. I never realized that our old toaster was heavy. This one has the functions you would most frequently use. The toasting is a little light in some places...but I don't care.

This toaster really makes evenly toasted bread. The machine has space for regular bread, bagels or Texas bread. It also has an option for toasting an extra 30 seconds if your bread needs just a little more time. I’m glad I was told about it and that I bought one too. Contacted manufacturer twice via email with a trouble ticket issued and never received a response/assistance. Multiple past reviews stating same issue. If you bake your own bread like we do, it's THE toaster to get. The oversized slots fit all our free-standing loaf slices and also overproofed large loaves. (Hey, it happens!). Uniform browning makes for great toast and with the larger slots, we don't have to cut the 'ears' off the slices to get them into the toaster. Very light and much easier to clean than stainless steel, it's a nice look on the counter too. Does single slices although the other side still fires up when you push the 'Single' button, other reviewers say the same, so not sure what that really does. Actually we wish Cusinart would release a 4-slice version of this! For the price, we could get another one and store it until we need 4 slices simultaneously. Plenty of power to really brown our sourdough rye and pumpernickel, which 'ain't easy' and why we needed a new toaster. Bagel feature works great, although basically backwards from most other toasters (put the bagels in bottom-to-bottom, facing outwards). Only had it a week now, we'll see how the cleaning goes down the line a bit, and nice front-loaded crumb tray is easy to remove. Super happy and we are not easy to please, so - Highly Recommended! ... show more

I bought this to replace an old Cuisinart toaster whose lever stopped working. I did not realize it was so much bigger than my old one. I like the toaster's style; the larger lever is nice. With my old Cuisinart, I could toast an English muffin just below the 4 on the dial. I also used the bagel button because the muffin is thicker. I like my toast lightly toasted. I've used this 5 times and still cannot get it to toast correctly. This morning, I upped it to level 5, and it was barely toasted on the inside. I lowered the dial to the lowest setting and used the 30-second button to get it closer to how I like it. I had to use the cancel button so it would not get too toasted or burned. Update: I stopped using the bagel button after about a week. I get a lightly toasted English muffin just below 4 on the dial. I changed my 3 star rating to 5. ... show more
