I am not a coffee snob. I simply wanted to enjoy fresh ground coffee at home without a complicated setup or a steep price tag — and this Cuisinart grinder delivered exactly that. Right out of the box it is plug and play — no instructions needed, no programming, no learning curve whatsoever. Press and hold the button, grind, release. That is the entire operation. You get a consistent medium grind that is perfect for a standard drip coffee maker and would work just as well for a French press. And let me be direct — once you start drinking freshly ground coffee at home, you will never go back to pre-ground. The difference is that noticeable, and this is one of the most affordable ways to make the upgrade. A full 12-cup batch grinds in literal minutes, though I typically only need enough for a couple of morning cups. Speaking of morning — yes, there is some noise involved when grinding. However, it is not the noise that will wake anyone up. It is the incredible aroma that fills the kitchen. Cleanup is a breeze, especially with daily use — a simple dry cloth to sweep out the grounds is all it takes. The unit itself feels solid and durable, and I expect it to hold up for years. One honest complaint worth noting: the power cord is only about 2 feet long.
