Work great. Works fast. We use our for herbs. Short cord. The lid presses down to activate similar to other ones that I have used before. This one has a small dedicated switch/button the is pressed by a tooth on the clear lid. The switch has a protective cover on it that I am assuming will help protect the on/off action of pressing the lid down. Wonderful for the price when compared to other no name options. Nice and compact. Works very well and extremely easy to use. It won’t grind that many coffee beans to make lots of cups but def great for a cup or two at a time. Easy enough to clean as well.

I drink a lot of coffee. I grind my own beans. When my uber-fancy, ultra finicky Hamilton Beach grinder bit the big one prematurely, I needed a grinder fast. I could grind my own with a mortar and pestle, but that is too much work. I got the B&D in 2 days. It is on the small side and rather light. The grinding basin and blades cannot be removed. You press the top down while it grinds. It is very simple. This means that there are fewer failure points. It is inexpensive and grinds quickly. Remember, the more features, the greater the chance that one or more will fail. I will revisit this review and let you know how its doing. ... show more

This grinder is great for coffee beans (obviously), as well as spices and nuts. It is also excellent for grinding cannabis (where legal), pulverizing stems, buds, and dormant weevils into a fine, luxurious powder.

    • Updated version of our favorite coffee grinder
We had two of the original version (I guess) of this. We gave one to our son and needed a second one. We use one for coffee beans and the other is for flax seeds, dried herbs, etc. As soon as it arrived, I opened and cleaned it and put it to work. I am very pleased that it has performed so well. I use it regularly. It is not too loud, works fast, easy removable and cleanable lid. To clean it, I use a wet paper towel with a tiny bit of dish soap, and wet kitchen cloth to rinse it and then a dry kitchen towel before leaving it to air dry. It doesn't take much space to store out of the way, or to keep it out for faster use. ... show more
