We’ve had the Cuisinart toaster about a week. It’s toasting very well: Bagels and home made bread is all we do with it. Really like the extra large slots. I read reviews that complain about unevenness in toasting, and I can’t help but wonder if such folks are considering variations in the breads. We find that different recipes we bake toast differently. Some are more dense, some have lots of holes—and of course thickness in the slice matters too. We use the “preview” feature frequently, which lets you raise the bread up during toasting so you can check how it’s coming along. We’ve had good luck over the years with other Cuisinart products, and we feel this toaster measures up to that history. Thumbs up! ... show more

    • Good toaster with a few quirks…
Overall we’re generally satisfied with this toaster. Although, like others have reported for plain white bread, English muffins or similar items you can’t use any setting higher than 3 or they’ll burn. For items that are frozen or that are more moist you might be able to use a higher setting. We have to push square white bread toward the back of the toaster slot otherwise the lower corner of the slice closest to the front controls gets too dark. Also as others have stated the single slice function doesn’t work. Both slots turn on. These negatives aren’t a big deal they’re just the quirkiness of this particular toaster that you need to get used to. Once you find the right setting it toasts nicely. Being able to lift the handle to check the done-ness without canceling the toasting is a very nice feature. The overall appearance of the toaster is also nice. ... show more

    • Best toaster I've ever had.
Isn't real attractive - but it works great. Toast is evenly toasted and crisp all over. The darkness of the toast selection knob is absolutely accurate. This toaster is the gold standard.

    • Burns toast every time
It burns toast every time even on the lowest setting. This toaster should be taken off the market as a fire hazard.

    • Great toast but single slice function does not work
Produces very good toast and I love the slightly longer inserts but will have to return - again. Single slice function does not work - returned the first and now the replacement. .
