  • Just what I wanted!Works great and easy to use!
Works great!

  • Purchased Refurbished, Works Like New
I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a new coffeemaker, so I decided to try the refurbished. Over the years I have had good experiences with Cuisinart and this is no different. I was nervous about the refurbished, but I am trying to reuse where it makes sense. We've had for a couple months now I think and it is great. Having the addition of hot water also helps not only for tea but for cooking, and not always heating up my tea kettle is a plus. Both the coffee and hot water dispensers have an ability to keep warm. The coffee pot has the options of low, medium or high in keeping your fresh brewed coffee warm. Low works for me. This unit does not have a grinder if you prefer to grind your beans with or on your coffee machine. Glad I made this purchase! ... show more

  • Great machine, I definitely recommend
This is a great coffee maker I would definitely recommend to others. I really like that you can turn on and off each side independently of each other. It's nice and compact on my countertop. The coffee side brews a great coffee with options to make it stronger if your not making a whole pot. The water from the dispenser is very hot which is great. I also like the child lock feature for the water dispenser as it is very easy to press down that lever. If you have a very tall mug you can take out the drip tray to accommodate its size and the whole unit is visually very beautiful. It doesn't look cheap, feels study and like it will last a long time (I've been using it for about a couple of weeks). The self clean button is also a nice addition to this unit, I hated I couldn't properly clean my old one. However, there are a few very minor things that prevent it from being perfect. The coffee maker has quite a few very bright lights on them, one for each side that light up when it is on and a few others for functions, which for me is fine as it always reminds me to turn it off, however the clock has no backlight which is a little frustrating as if anything should be lit up it is that so I can see better when setting it in the middle of the night. Also the lid of the carafe is annoying because it is not hinged, you have to pop it off to fill it with water and click it back on, not the worst thing in the world but my $20 coffee maker before had hinged so I don't understand why this one wouldn't. ... show more

  • Love this coffee pot but may have flaws
Overall this coffee pot is amazing. The first one we had lasted about five years and then would randomly not turn on. Figured we got our money’s worth and ordered another here May 2021. Received it and the second day of owning it, the hot water side of the tank leaked all over. Returned and had a replacement sent just fine. Here we are three weeks shy of a year from when we received the replacement coffee pot and it’s dumping water all over the counter. There must be a manufacture flaw with these unfortunately. Leaving five stars because this is a name brand product and it’s not the shops fault. The transaction and shipping and original replacement through this seller on Amazon was awesome. I just really think they are flawed. I haven’t been able to trace the leak yet. Will update after I do more troubleshooting. ... show more

  • MY FAVORITE BASIC CUISINART
So I bought this item refurbished and it works great. I had this model before we moved and had to give it away because we were moving to Europe where it could not be used with their electricity. When we returned I bought another Cuisinart model and was not happy with it. I just wanted something simple to use and sturdy so I went back to this model and am very happy with the ease of use. Also it makes good tasting coffee and an added bonus, it has a dispenser for hot water for tea. I highly recommend this model. ... show more

  • Referb model dose not come with the same stuff as the "new" model NOT a good value
NOTE: This applies to the refurb model only! I drink mostly tea, and few coffee makers get the water hot enough for a proper cup of tea. I was looking at the "prefect temp" model that claims to give 200 degree hot water. I was stupid and Assumed the reviews for the new model would be the same as for the refurb model. Well they are not! First, the "new" model comes with a glass caraf As indicated on the new model. It does not. I also assumed it would come with the Charcoal Water Filter and Gold Tone Filter indicated on the new model. It does not! Now if you buy these items , it moves the cost of the "referb" higher then the new one! and you don't get the 3 year warranty! Second Stupid was reading the reviews and assuming the info there was correct. One reviewer said the water temp on the coffee side was 200* and the hot water side was 185* WelI doubt he tested this, but I can tell you that it is not accurate. I ran 5 tries using different levels of water on the "coffee" side and I got water temp from 167 to 170. NO WHERE NEAR 200!!! I even tried letting it "brew" about half way and opening the top and measuring the temp of the water in the filter, 173! I guess I should have bought the "perfect temp" model if I wanted tea water. OK but surely the "Hot Water" side would give me water hot enough for tea! Well, NO. the "hot water" is right around 155* even after letting it "cook" for 10 min I could not get it to 160 (159). I get 149* water out of a cheep Mr Coffee I spent 19.97 on! OK, I can use it for instant soup right. Except for the fact that they have the dumbest system on earth. If you put in 4 cups of water, you will get one cup of hot water, and the rest stays in the unit! To get the "old water" out, you have to pull a plug on the bottom of the machine. And remember it is a whole lot more then a cups worth so grab something that will hold a lot of water, or just move the coffee maker over to the sink. And by the way, the "plug" on the tank is just a friction fit. no telling when it will start leaking, but if you empy the tank a lot, I'm guessing it will be sooner rather then later. So the "hot water" system is useless, and the water is really not hot enough to brew tea, but its a coffee maker after all and it will make a great cup of coffee... Right? I guess that depends on the coffee you are use to. If you are used to a cheap Mr. Coffee, well this is about the same. measured temp is very slightly higher, but no where hear the 196* I get from the Bunn coffee maker at work. Not surprising, the coffee tastes the same as what I get from the cheap Mr Coffee. (just FYI I brought a pack of the coffee we use at work, and it doesn't taste near as good on this coffee maker. Another little issue I have is that it has a very short cord. About 2 ft. This might not be an issue if you could keep the coffee maker up against the wall, But if you want to pull it out to the edge of the counter so you can empty the stupid hot water tank, it really isn't long enough. I also don't like how long it takes to fill a cup with hot water. Its more like its coming out of the "brew" side and takes too long to fill a cup. I think I should also mention the "referb" label is a lie, The unit I got was 100% brand new. Just missing some of the stuff that comes with the "new" model. I think this is a way for Cuisinart to make a "cheaper model" of the CHW-12 by pulling stuff out of the package and discounting the price. ... show more

  • Favorite coffee maker
Dependable and consistent. Makes coffee well, keeps it warm (without scorching).Really love the hot water dispenser for tea drinkers in the house, auto off is always helpful and the non disposable filter does its job and saves us from having to buy paper replacements
