  • Magic rice cooker
I once had an incredible rice dish in Japan. I have been wondering how I can cook rice to achieve a similar taste and tenderness. The Cuckoo pressure rice cooker is the answer. Now my whole family can enjoy incredible rice quality every day, just like I did in Japan. Additionally, I have tried cooking with different types of rice, such as jasmine rice, Basmati, and sweet rice. All the rice I have tested has turned out great with this rice cooker. One thing I’d like to mention is that I learned from another reviewer that the English manual did not provide clear instructions on how to set up the clock. I follow the Korean instructions instead, using Google Translate. ... show more

  • Excellent rice cooker with some short comings
I use my rice cooker pretty much every day. I eat a lot of rice, probably on average about 2 times a day so I'm always making fresh rice every 2 to 3 days. I'm replacing a Cuckoo eco pressure rice cooker (CRP-P1009S) which has served me well for a few years but it was a 10 cup model and, for me, it was too big for one person so I was looking for something with a smaller capacity. I knew I wanted another Cuckoo but this time with their induction heating technology. I was going to get their other twin pressure IH cooker but I saw they had a newer model with their quiet pressure cooking technology so I decided to splurge and buy it since I use my rice cooker so often. Well, I received the rice cooker and I call it the Robocop. It's quite nice looking but I have some minor complains. But before we get to the complaints, I have to say the quiet pressure cooking technology really works! My old cuckoo was quite loud especially during the steam release. The new one is very, very quiet. You can still hear the steam release but it's night and day compared to the old model. Also, it makes fantastic rice! I make my own mix of rice which consists of brown rice, brown sweet rice, barley, and sweet black rice. Compared to the old rice cooker, this new one makes the rice very soft, yet chewy, and sticky. I use the high pressure multi-grain setting and the rice comes out perfect! It's definitely better than the old cuckoo using the same rice mix. The reason for the 4 star review is as follows: 1. Terrible manual. No where does it tell you how to set the clock. I finally figured it out but it would have been nice if that was mentioned. 2. The buttons are all touch sensitive and don't push in when you hit it so it's hard to tell if you're actually pushing the button since you're just hitting a hard surface with no give. I liked the soft touch buttons of the old cooker where it would actually push in. 3. No more rice paddle holder on the side of the cooker. I don't know why they got rid of that. You spend this much money on a rice cooker and there's no place to store the paddle? But, overall, at the end of the day it's all about the rice cooking ability and this cooker shines in that department. ... show more

  • Great rice cooker! Go for it!
This one works great without any issue. Rice tastes pretty good and right amount of stickiness. Good upgrade since I used one for 10 years. Sleek look and intuitive function keys.

  • Whisper quiet twin pressure cooker!
Replaced my prior twin pressure induction model (LHTR1009FW) and what a huge improvement. More modern simplistic look, cooks rice the same with the exception it is now super quiet without the loud hissing and pressure release noise the prior model suffered

  • Delicious quinoa but long learning curve
This is a high quality rice cooker. The material of each part is very sturdy. The actual item looks lighter than the picture. The quinoa was cooked under non pressure setting for 38 mins and it was perfectly cooked. I have used different top brands and top models and taste wise this is the best so far. There is a learning curve on how to use it though. I couldn’t find from the instruction on how to change the time and how to do slow cook. I did some research online and talked to the product support team on Amazon and got my answer. So yes the volume, yes or no voice, texture, keep warm temperature, slow cooking/soup coking functions can all be set, but you need to go through quite a few steps to get there. Once you figured these out, it is a pleasant device to use. Plus, it was indeed very quiet and the non pressure coming mode dud not generate any steam out so it did not make my kitchen look like a sauna room. I also wish the device by default has a stainless steel inner pot instead of a separately sold one that I have to purchase from another website. ... show more

  • Please help set clock and turn voice off
One of you mentioned you were able to set the clock, how did you do it? Zero instructions. Also, how can you lower the voice or turn off completely- driving me nuts. So loud and obnoxious. Manual is not informative for the above unfortunately.

  • Imo should be around $400 as brand new
It is expensive, does its job good, but It should come with a rice paddle holder. Paid around $380 for a used one. I think it would be better also if it had more select modes like if I wanted for example scorched rice, I could press the button once and be done. I dont know if I like the smoothness of the buttons and using arrows for selecting modes, but it does make it sleeker. Instructions aren't that great and there isn't a ton of easy to find recipe and use case guides for hacking this rice cooker or using the multi mode. Rice in pressure mode comes out stickier and when you chew it it does kinda break down and mush as easily as non pressure cooked rice, which is a good thing, makes eating with your hands feasible if you're coming from the rice from those very cheap aroma rice cookers make where its better to use a fork. ... show more
