I'm 6'0" and a bit under 240 lbs, 16" neck and 34" sleeves. The XL sleeve lengths and torso fit are perfect. The snaps appear rugged and the materials are of very good quality. I expect to get many years of use for this coat while welding or plasma cutting. The inside pocket is handy for storing a chart or whatever. I've been using a heavy cotton shirt that has had its share of burn holes (and its likely not really flame resistant), so nice to finally upgrade to something that doesn't risk having me become the human torch. It would be nice to have an extra exterior pocket with a flap to keep out sparks for a soapstone marker, scribe, pencil (or maybe some spare rods?) But a leather apron would take care of those needs and provide more frontal protection. Another improvement would be a place for a name on the front and back (written in permanent ink) to allow quick ID of the person in the jacket. Not a game changer, but a group in all black is like a flock of nuns or penguins. ... show more

Bought this and gave this to my husband as an early Father's Day gift. He's doing a lot of welding and body work on a 1949 International KB pick-up truck. Because it's a complete restoration, there's a lot more welding, cutting, repairing, etc. to do. He was REALLY surprised about the coat, and it is doing exactly was it was intended to do, protecting him from those nasty welding burns and sparks. I bought a size larger than he wears, which gives him extra working room. He also says it's not too warm while working in the garage, and actually very comfortable. The quality is excellent, he's happy, I'm happy he's safe. It WAS the best choice for the money! The brand, Lincoln is a very good welder brand too! So, I figured, the coat would be well made, and it is. Works perfect with his welding gloves. BTW...Don't buy the one with the plastic flames on emblems on the sleeves, it will melt and burn the arms! ... show more

The jacket is comfortable and good heavy duty, but the sleeves are a little long so that's why I gave a 4 star. So as long as the sleeves covers my wrist there are no problems about it, it would offer better protection against welding sparks (mig, stick, acetylene cutting, plasma cutting, etc).

This is a solid, comfortably fitting welding jacket. While it's not as heavy as a leather jacket, it's still damn warm in the summer! Just about perfect for the mountain winter, though. Great jacket. Just started welding and needed some PPE. jacket is warm and has some weight to it. The full leather sleeves add the weight but I figured that going into it. Get a size bigger for room. Sleeves are a touch long but they have buttons to secure the opening which helps. Good jacket. Only wish it was a bit longer. It comes just to the belt when you wear your pants at the waist. Wish it was a “tall” length for a little extra coverage. Not a deal breaker. Still super happy. ... show more
