I tend to be like most people and use tarps in all sorts of arbitrary ways, depending on my needs at the moment, but most commonly I use them to either cover a table while I'm painting something or to place a barrier between the ground and something I'm painting that's too big to put on a table. I guess I do a lot of painting. This particular tarp is of reasonable quality, comparable to the last one I purchased at my local orange big box store. The claim of a thickness of 9 mil seems accurate, and the grommets are all reinforced, which is always nice if you need to tie the tarp down without the holes ripping out. Bottom line: this is a competitively priced tarp of similar quality to what you'd find at your local hardware store. I ordered the following Tarp: "CSMEN Black Small tarps Waterproof 6x6ft,Plastic Outdoor tarps Cover 8mil Thickness for rain," and I am pretty sure that is what I got. When I click on the listing it takes me to tarps by the same brand, but they are different sizes and are listed as 11 mil. So, please check the listing to make sure this review matches the tarp you are considering. Usually, I get my tarps from the local hardware store. The are typically 5 mil. I use them run the bed of my truck to make it easier to pull loads of yard debris or rocks out of the truck. I can destroy a tarp pretty quickly. This tarp is definitely thicker than the the hardware store versions, and will last a bit longer. The corners are reinforced with rubber, and the grommets are pretty standard. I ordered and received a six by six 8 mil tarp. The list price of ten bucks was about what it should be. If I need a tarp of this size again, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this again. ... show more

This is a heavy duty tarp. It is 10 ft by 12 ft, and 16 mil thick! It is totally waterproof and super tough! We use these tarps in the alcove side of our house to protect various items from the weather. It is made so tough that it withstands storms, even some hail storms. This is made to last quite some time. It has metal grommets and is made with a great material. We hang it from the back side of the house and use bungees on the bottom edge to absorb the pull of the wind. This tarp is excellent quality and we are happy to have it! ... show more

I got this for general 'tarp' use. It's a good size at 6 x 6 feet. Most general use tarps are the 10 feet or 12 feet size, which are just too large to use for most normal jobs. This one also feels pretty sturdy, but we'll have to see how it holds up. The last two tarps I bought were kept outside for most of their lives, and both LITERALLY disintegrated from the sun exposure. Since this one is black, I'm using it to help kill weeds in my yard, so we'll see how it holds up to being in the sun for a few weeks. ... show more

I use tarps for outdoor storage purposes, so something a little heavy duty is always desired. This tarp fits the bill. The material is nice and thick, not easily torn or frayed. It should also allow it to last a little longer under the sun. I've had other tarps disintegrate after being in the sun for a year. I expect this to last longer. Grommets are well made and secure.
