    • Overall, it's a great investment.
Wow! Protection from the summer sun and the rain! This is a good investment for me. I'm grateful that there were videos available on how to set it up, as they helped me a great deal. You don't have to be Doctor Octopus to set this up; I did so all by myself and it worked just fine. Two people would be nice, but not necessary. The instructions are really easy to understand, and there's a summary of the instructions on the storage bag that comes with it in case you forget something. I really enjoyed that. There are two plastic bullet-shaped tips attached to the bag (by canvas extensions) meant to keep the legs and the bag together during storage or moving, and it's really neat. One could easily forget how to store the tent in conjunction with the bag, so I just took a picture to remind myself. Yes, the tarp portion has to be installed on the frame. I've used this a couple times, and my main reason for purchasing it was for my trips to the beach. I took one on yesterday, and it worked just fine. Word of advice... putting the legs underneath sand without the metal stays that come with it (or the bags intended for weight distribution) is not a good idea. I was in the water, and I looked back and noticed that someone (the wind) moved the entire tent!! I was like "What?! WHO has the NERVE to MOVE my #$%@ after all my hard work?!" I got out and saw lines in the sand! LOL!!! Well, I proceeded to put the stays in each of the plastic ports, and it didn't move anymore. (= Even when it started to rain (at an angle), it still provided protection for me. But most important was shade from the sun. It's got a neat 'exhaust' port at the top that allows for circulation and ventilation, and that's better that the port is in place. Major likes: 1). Design 2). Color of the tent 3). Easy to assemble 4). Doesn't take up too much space Now... on to my gripes: 1). There are multiple small receptacles meant to fit around a cylindrical head to attach the tent to the frame. They stay in place, but when the wind was blowing yesterday, one kept coming off. I put it back in place when I was preparing to leave (and storing the tent back into its bag), but it kept being stubborn! The others were fine, and eventually, I found a way to keep it in its place. Those U-shaped receptacles are rubber/plastic (?) and not sturdy enough; they may eventually loosen over time. 2). This tent is an attractant for flies. I noticed it when I initially set it up... there were two flies in my rear patio (where I unboxed the item), and I NEVER get flies in there. I thought to myself 'Did these jokers come packaged with this tent?!' but then I thought it was just a coincidence. After the initial setup, I noticed there was another fly underneath the tent! "Okay. This is ridiculous." I advised the fly to leave before I stored the tent in the bed of my truck. Whether or not it did? I do not know. On yesterday at the beach, there were about 4-5 flies underneath the tent AGAIN! And it's always the small ones! My deduction? They're attracted to something underneath there, and it ain't me! LOL!!! XD 3). This tent could've been preassembled by the manufacturer. What gives?! Overall, it's a great investment. The wheels are awesome to be used, but only on a hard surface... I didn't even try to drag that thing through the sand cause it's not that light; I sat it up on my right shoulder and walked on through the sand. I worry about their longevity, though. Oh! The size of the tent! It's perfect! You can get it even taller if you'd like with the clamps that lock in place. I'm 6'6" and I did bump my head on the top portion of it, but I could've set it higher if I felt. The mechanism that locks it in place? Mwaa! Magnifico! Okay. That's it for me.     • Easy One Person Set Up

I use tents for my outside craft show set up and was hesitant about this tent at first because it doesn’t talk about it being a one person set up. But it is!! The first time I did it was a test and to add the canopy, took about 20 minutes. Next time with the canopy already on it took about 5 minutes. It’s so much nice than my old one too. It has tabs on the top corners of the canopy so it’s easy to lift and pull them back down when adding walls. The buttons to adjust the leg height are really easy to use, not those awful metal ones that get caught inside the legs. And the piece that raises/lowers the center is super easy to use and really well made. The one thing concerning about the one person set up was pulling the frame apart but I grabbed one of the legs with the wheels and it rolled right out while the other legs stayed in place. Might be more difficult on concrete or asphalt rather than grass but I imagine putting one of the weight bags on the legs would keep it from moving while the other legs are moved. My one complaint is that two of the canvas bags lost tabs the first time I used them creating holes that let sand run out. One came off completely when I tried to pull it apart to attach it to the legs and the other one side ripped while attaching the leg. But since I considered the weight bags bonuses I still gave this 5 stars. ... show more

I know canopies are called EZ-ups, but I have found them anything but easy to set up. Not so with my new Crown Shade pop-up!! I have put this up multiple times - by myself! And I've taken it down - by myself! This is well worth the few extra dollars it costs, compared to the ones being sold by discount stores. The legs are easy to adjust with levers (not those tiny buttons that always seem to either catch your fingers or just can't be pushed in), too! And I love the carry case! Slip it over the folded up canopy, and ZIP IT CLOSED! No struggling and tugging to get the canopy inside the bag. And two of the legs have wheels, so you can move it easily when set up, or move it easily when closed. Well made, sturdy, attractive - and I love the vented top! This is THE BEST canopy, and I highly recommend it!! ... show more

Very easy to setup, when I didn’t look at the instructions when it came to the poles and elevation it did not go smoothly. Looked at them and it worked the way it was supposed to. I’m 63 yrs old with a shoulder replacement and did it on my own. Later with the wife and it was easier. Moved it to cover the car from this Texas Sun to clean it. So much better now that I have shade. Next, to do leather care on the truck. Been putting it off this year because temps have been 102-113. ... show more

I recently purchased this crown shades 10x10 canopy from Amazon, and after putting it to the test, I'm inclined to give it a solid 4-star rating.
