If you're the guy who doesn't want to have to rely on anyone to help set up a shade, this product is for you. It's very easy to set up and take down. The shade fits tightly over the top and there are plenty of velcro fasteners that secure the shade onto the frame. It is one click set-up, you climb underneath and push up on the large button to fully extend the shade width-wise, then you lower the legs to raise it up. The only thing I don't like about this shade is that the extending parts of the legs are plastic, not metal, and there are no locking buttons to set the legs to a certain height. You just have to fully extend the legs and they don't lock in place with anything more than a friction-based red button. The plastic legs make the shade a little wobbly compared to other models I've ever. I suspect this substitution was done in the Chinese spirit of making products as cheaply as possible in order to squeeze a few more pennies of profit out of every unit, but at this price point I expected a little more. ... show more

I've gone thru a few tents, i put them thru hell, this one not only survived, it was also the easiest tent to put up and take down. BY MYSELF!!! i'm under 5ft tall and i had ZERO PROBLEMS maneuvering this tent. it has pivoting feet, no stupid push nub locks so you can adjust to any hight and dont have to worry about putting nubs into pre-drilled holes. just pull up or push a 2" wide lever to lower. the middle: plant one hand and just push up and lock, check the diagonal struts to make sure they're locked. lowerung the middle: easy unlock and easy collapse. the pivotting feet actually kept it from getting damaged - it might NOT be RATED for 20mph winds- but mine survived beautifully staked and weighted in 36 hours of 10-25mph gusts. i am so happy ... show more

I rated this tent 5 stars within its tent category. It’s not a full truss structured tent, so it really can’t be compared to those, as they are way more sturdy, but those tents are also much bigger when collapsed. With limited space in my vehicle, I opt to mostly use this kind of tent- they pop up in the center and since they don’t have a full truss, they are considerably smaller collapsed. Wow that was redundant. Anyway, for this kind of tent it has proven to be my favorite. I can easily set it up by myself within 5 minutes. I usually pull the legs outward and then get under it and push up the top, so the legs expand to their full capacity. Then I raise the legs. The thing I love about this tent is that you can raise each leg to any height. So if your on a slant you can adjust the front or back legs to make it even. Most popup tents have three leg positions and they lock into place. Unfortunately with these less expensive tents, the push buttons inevitably get stuck. I have had that happen to every tent I’ve owned. I usually have to put screws in the holes to lock the legs. With this tent, that’s not a worry at all. Is it going to withstand heavy winds, let unattended- probably not. Will the arms eventually break- probably. If you want something extremely sturdy and durable, you’ll have to get a full truss structured tent. But for what it is, it’s better than the others ... show more

Advertised as one person pop up. Instructions show 2 necessary.. I set it up myself by going slower and walking it 4 or 5 times as I extended the legs a little at a time so as not to torque or damage. Made mistake of lifting it to height prior to attaching canopy. Any wind makes that awkward for one. Lowered it as instructions explained and fastened easily before lifting from center. Center locks and legs all locks great.. My total break down time with canopy fold and all back in sturdy bag was under 10 minutes. I am sure the sun protection will be adequate, and canopy is nicely double stitched..
