Wonderful presidential rollerball pen. Picked it up on black friday sale for half msrp; 10/10. The pen itself is tasteful and understated; Black lacquer with gold highlights is simple and elegant. Comes with one black gel rollerball refill inside the pen (no extra refill) that I'd say is a Medium but can't say for sure because the refill doesn't say the size. Writes very smoothly and lays down a nice solid black line with no skips whatsoever. Small note, the gel ink smells a bit funny, like toasted rubber or kerosene; I assume that that is due to how this particular gel is made, most likely from petroleum. If you don't like the smell, you can always buy a Cross rollerball ink refill that isn't gel. This pen of course only accepts Cross refills, though there may be third party sellers that make compatible refills. Multiple colors are avaiable for refills which is very nice! Pen itself has a very nice hefty, solid weight to it, and is very comfortable to grip and write with. The pen cap posts very well and securely, this adds some extra weight to the pen but is not a problem. Unless you have very large hands, I would say this pen is long enough to be used unposted. I personally like using it posted because I like the extra bit of weight and the look of the pen posted better. Overall, a wonderful and luxuriouspen, writes fantastically, looks beautiful without being in any way extravagant. This is the pen that the President uses, with good reason! 100% recommended, especially if you can get it on sale. ... show more

I’m in love with this pen. It writes so smooth and it has such a great weigh to it. The pearl white color makes it look so elegant when in my planner. The ink I think is a 0.7 but it writes so nice. It glidess on the paper. By far an amazing pen. Might have to buy another one. Only thing I didn’t like was that it came in a huge box which is a little odd. A slimmer box would do.     • The pen is good but I've replaced the item once and none of them came with the refill.

This pen is a great writer, however the first time I got it I did not receive a refill with it like it says on the description. So I decided to do a replacement of the item to get the refill along with the pen. The second one came and it also did not have a refill, be careful because Amazon cannot help you with this unless you return the full item. And after time wasted going to return the item and waiting for it to get back I am not confident that the third time around it'll come with the refill just a warning though, the pen is great and it writes very well. Feels good in the hand and it's weight is great. Note: Amazon cannot help you out in getting a refill, the only option they gave me was to return the item for my money back. ... show more

My father gave me a low-priced version of this Century II around 25 years ago, and I've always loved the way it felt. After seeing the discount which was available through Amazon, I decided to pull the trigger on the real deal. The finish of the lacquer is a very nice high gloss, and the 24k gold accents are stunning. I hope to have this pen for another 25+ years. The one downside is the ink itself. Although i love the flow of the Rollerball, it will occasionally stop running (depending on the paper type and surface which you're writing on), and because the ink is water-based, it will run all over your page if it gets damp (from water or even perspiration). The fact that this is a Select Tip allows me to switch up to a felt-tip or ballpoint at any time, so I'll see if these changes may remedy the two minor issues. ... show more
