For the price I'm quite impressed. They are heavy, I believe the solid wood part ( in the product description) is the seat. The stain on the seat is a beautiful color, shows wood grain and is just a bit lighter than what most furniture pieces are labeled as espresso. It's just enough off white to make it not stark. The only "aged/distressed" bit is on the chair legs and rail but it looks good. For those wanting a bit more distressed look it would likely be easy to sand a few spots or to rub a bit of stain here or there. I had no difficulty putting them together, easy instructions and holes are all in line for the bolts and screws. The seat part is a bit narrower than the chairs I had, but those where huge 90s oak style. I'd have to say these are probably not the most comfortable chairs, but I can't get upholstered chairs with three young children in the house. I'll buy or make cushions and they will be just right. The front leg decorative bits are just enough to make them match the giant 90s oak table I'm refinishing ( I'm hoping to match the stain for the table topcamd white for the pedestal). ... show more

I have purchased two sets of chairs from this company. the first time a heavy relative sat on it and the leg broke from the base. I wasn't so upset because the chair was stressed. The company replaced it. which I appreciated it. but then the second set I purchased broke in a way that disappointed me to the point I decided to write this review. the second incident was totally uncalled for. all I did was stand on the seat to reach some thing and the leg just snapped in half. luckily I was agile enough to land on my feet. and I'm only 165 lb. I'm convinced the company has fired their quality control dept. who should be testing the procurement of the wood they source to make these chairs. I didn't even called them to get it replaced again. because I have no interest in keeping them any more due to fear of falling. who wants to sit on a unpredictable chair. ... show more

Ordered 5 sets. Once I got the first one assembled the rest went together pretty quickly. Something to consider when assembling. Once you get the front legs mounted to the seat bottom. And have started the 7 bolts that hold the seat to the back. Let the chair sit on all 4’s before you fully tighten all 7 bolts. This will make sure it isn’t wobbly. Did have one counter sunk screw hole not fully drilled through on one of the leg braces - but that wasn’t a big deal. Only took me a few seconds to drill out my own hole for the screw. Figured 1 small issue out of all 10 chairs isn’t bad. They also have a nice weight to them, feel very sturdy and solid. They are not a pure white but slightly off white and the stained seat bottom has a reddish brown tint to it. Wish it was more of an espresso brown tint but not the end of the world. Also - they have a “worn” look to them on some of the turned pieces. Wish they had a dark stain color under the worn look to match my custom built farm house table. But again not the end of the word for the price and style. Overall the wife and I are happy with them. Another item off the honey do list and on to the next! ... show more
