Update: After my review appeared here, the seller contacted me. They offered me a full refund under their warranty, but never made good on that offer. When I received this thermostat I realized that its installation was far beyond my expertise. I suppose that I should have returned it to Amazon at that time. Instead, I waited until I had the help of a licensed electrician. On that day, the thermostat didn't light up. That is, it didn't work. Because it was now about a month past the 30-day Amazon return, customer service in chat said that my options were a complicated warranty claim through the manufacturer (from China) or a refund or gift card credit from Amazon. Those were the only options, customer service would not accept making a straight exchange for the same item. Naturally, I chose the refund or credit. However, customer service did not inform me that the refund or credit would be about 40% less than what I paid originally. I would have chosen to go through the warranty claim with the manufacturer if I had known this. So, a word of caution in dealing with Amazon customer service--ask if a refund or credit that they offer equals the purchase price for the item. ... show more

    • WIFI PASSWORD CHANGE
Great thermostat, but IF YOU CHANGE YOUR WIFI PASSWORD, you’ll want to push the down arrow and hold it for 8 seconds until the wifi symbol blinks! Then, open your app and choose your router. Enter your new password. It took me weeks to figure this out! The manual was no help.

    • Looks great, works, but has weird issues
I have been using this for a few months. It looks incredible, and it does work … but.. The wiring is very odd and had to have a tech from my HVAC company come out to get it actually connected correctly as the instructions are awful and the wiring is not standard. Additionally. The unit occasionally changes modes on its own and you have to set it back. Like, you will have it set to cool, then without interaction it changes to auto. There is also some issue with the touchscreen that it is a bit off in calibration and sometimes the touch isn’t detects without tapping a few times. I find myself using the app, which also isn’t great. To control the HVAC system. It’s not an amazing device, but it does work. ... show more

For wifi setup: start with holding the down arrow for 8 seconds. They have it at the end. That works best. Beautiful stat, lots of info on screen, easy to setup or adjust on the stat or through the app.

RETURNED FOR FULL REFUND! This thermostat would not connect to the internet. And froze up my air unit because it said it was hot in the house when it in fact was not. So the unit continued to run without shutting off. Went back to my old thermostat!
