  • best filament dryer by cost

  • A high-quality, 3d
A fantastic 3D filament heater/dryer combo. It heats the internals from 45C-65C and with a timer from 1-hours through 24-hours. I plan to check the accuracy of the heating feature but I’m not in a hurry given it dried slightly hydrated PETG CF, PETG GF, ASA, ABS and some very damp (>30%), very old copper-colored Silk PLA, which I have found difficult to print on the beat of days but impossible with moisture levels above 20%. The hygrometer goes down to 15% as its lower limit but once it reaches that level, it’s low enough for anything I’ve come across. I also use it as a heater/filament softener for more exotic and difficult to print engineering filament. In full transparency, the unit I received works 100% and without issue but it was clearly not ‘new’. This is a problem I have noticed more frequently of late. It had enough filament dust or grime inside the enclosure to notice it when I first opened the box. It also had a greasy film in parts of the enclosure, something close to lead screw grease and other tells it was not a new item or at minimum, a poorly cared for, poorly stored ‘new’ item. Amazon offered to send me a ‘new’ one and didn’t ask for the old one back. I declined since the filament dryer worked so well as received and even though I didn’t get a ‘new’ item it looks fine (enough). I didn’t think the waste of resources and materials to send me a replacement was worth it (to me, anyway). While this has happened to me a few times this year (along with the wrong item being delivered once) it does not affect how well a functional example of this filament dryer works. I’ve used it for any number of odd and demanding engineering filaments and it hasn’t caused an issue. I have >300-hours of active, heated use it hasn’t as much as hiccuped. I am ordering more and if you print even as a hobby, having two or more in invaluable to have filaments dried and ready to print, including softening the filament when needed. Oh, you can also print directly from the dryer (in my case) with no impact on print performance, however I did use a small piece of high-quality PTFE tubing where the filament exits the dryer. be enough ... show more

  • Controls are a pain, but functional.
Great device. Everything is controlled with a single rotating switch and invariably will change your settings by trying to start it up. It is genuinely irritating. As for the product itself, its great, has a timer and has dried several spools of filament successfully.

  • Creality Filament Dryer Box 2.0 with Fans - Happy with the purchase !!!
Received on time. Everything is working as expected. Very happy with the purchase. Dried Bambu Lab PLA Matte filament (Gray) in 4 hours with no issues. Nice Design.

  • Huge improvement with PETG-CF on my Ender 3 - highly recommended!
Amazing improvement for PETG-CF. I live in a normally dry area but the last few weeks have seen high humidity (foggy mornings) etc. Printing PETG-CF has been endless trouble with stringing, adhesion and generally almost awful. I did some research and realized a filament dryer would probably help. I'm using the Ender 3 V2 (with a few upgrades) so I sprung for this Creality product. I put the PETG-CF spool in there at 60C and set timer for 4 hours which was recommended. I couldn't wait to try printing so after only 1 hour decided to test... and wow, the improvement is amazing. No stringing, clean lines, adhesion is no problem. ... show more

  • Excellent performance and price
For the price it has performed perfectly. Very happy with the purchase

  • Better than expected at the current price.
This thing maintains a low humidity even after being away for a day or two. Effectively dries filament including those with cardboard spools. While it does not rotate on its own, there are bearings that make manual rotating smooth. The system does circulate the air in case you aren’t at the dryer to manually rotate preventing uneven drying. Great product for a great price. ... show more

  • Okayish dryer with pointless hygrometer.
It's a little wonky to use with kind of a clunky way to set the temp and time. It doesn't have much of a temp range, 45-65 only. It maxes out at 12 hours. The hygrometer is all but worthless, as it doesn't run when the device is powered on, without the fan running, and it stops reading at 15% and can't read any lower. The lid doesn't seal all that well, it feels even cheaper than the price would indicate. There's nothing unique or special about this. It does pull less power than a food dehydrator at least, about 150w. I wasn't expecting much from this and it just barely delivers. Occasional errors where the numbers disappear until you restart it. It's pretty janky, but it works. You can also print out of the box. It's got a little plug on it that fits a PTFE tube and will seal moderately well. This way you can simultaneously dry and print for hygroscopic things like ABS or TPU. ... show more
