Our family already uses a Cricut and several 3D printers for a wide range of craft and fabrication projects, so a laser engraver fills a very practical space between those tools. We also own a Creality 3D printer that has worked extremely well, which gave me some confidence in the brand before trying this machine. The Falcon A1C strengthened that confidence. It feels thoughtfully designed, performs reliably, and makes laser engraving far more approachable than I expected. The enclosed desktop format is one of its greatest strengths. An open-frame laser can feel like a piece of shop equipment that requires a dedicated workspace, while this design contains the working area and fits much more naturally into a home craft setup. I still treat it as a real laser rather than a toy: I pay attention to ventilation, verify that a material is safe to engrave, and supervise it while it operates. The enclosure does not replace those precautions, but it makes the overall process feel considerably more controlled. Setup and operation proved straightforward, and the machine produced clean, precise results without forcing me through an unnecessarily complicated learning process. We have used it for personalized projects and experimented with different materials. One of our more unusual tests involved engraving a leaf, an example shown in the product material, and it worked exactly as demonstrated. That small experiment showed how much creative range the machine offers beyond ordinary signs and labels. It is equally useful for blank wood pieces, personalized gifts, decorative projects, and other items that would otherwise require paying an engraving service. The 10-watt laser offers a useful balance for this type of desktop machine. It has enough capability for the materials and projects we want to make, while the controls make it accessible to someone who already understands digital design or other computer-controlled craft tools. Experience with 3D-printer slicers and Cricut-style design workflows helped me get comfortable quickly, but I do not think a new user needs extensive technical experience to begin producing worthwhile results. Value depends on whether someone will actually use the machine, but for a household that regularly makes gifts, decorations, labels, prototypes, or customized items, I think it is priced competitively within the enclosed-laser category. Outsourced engraving becomes expensive quickly, and owning the machine also provides far more freedom to experiment and revise a design. Creality has earned some brand loyalty in our home through its 3D-printing equipment, and this engraver shows the same combination of capable hardware, practical features, and good overall value. I found the Falcon A1C to be a well-designed, high-quality machine with a modern desktop-friendly appearance. The enclosed construction and integrated safety features make it more approachable than an open-frame laser engraver, and the eye-safe enclosure reduces the need to wear safety goggles during normal operation. Even so, I would still follow the safety instructions carefully and avoid bypassing any protective features. The 10-watt laser provides enough power for a wide range of non-metal engraving projects and detailed artwork cutting. The modular platform is a major advantage because it allows the laser module to be changed later for different materials or project requirements. The built-in camera and autofocus also simplify positioning, especially when working with irregularly placed items or repeating designs. The machine is relatively easy to use, but producing consistently excellent results still requires practice. Different woods, acrylics, leathers, and other materials can react very differently, so speed and power settings need to be adjusted rather than assumed. The AI tools can make the design process faster, but they do not eliminate the need for testing and learning how the machine behaves with each material. One practical consideration is the exhaust created when materials are engraved or cut. The unit should be used in a well-ventilated area, and the exhaust hose should be routed outdoors when appropriate. Good ventilation is important even with an enclosed design, particularly for projects that produce noticeable smoke or burnt-material odors. I am super impressed with how simple it is to operate this laser engraver. I have owned a Creality Falcon Pro 10w laser engraver for over a year and while I have had success With it, it did have a bit of a learning curve since I have not been keeping current on computer drafting software. I had to use the open source software to run it and while I'm glad I learned all about designing and creating the appropriate files to run laser engravers, I do wish it has come with the same software as this new Falcon A1C system does, it would have saved me a lot of time and effort spent learning how to create the proper files to make it work. This new laser engraver is entirely self-contained and required zero assembly. The laser modules already in place, it has a motorized lift tray and auto focuses itself. There's no more need to get out the bubble spirit level, check the gap between the laser and the material and all the other fiddly things with my other laser engraver. You simply choose the product you want in the Falcon design space software and follow the instructions. It has tutorials that take you straight through autofocusing, sizing and everything else as soon as you turn it on and install the software. It's really simple, intuitive and makes using a laser engraver accessible for anyone, even with minimal experience with computers or no computer at all, you can run this using the app on a smartphone. It does have a small working surface area of 150 mm by 150 mm. My larger Falcon Pro has a 400 MM x 400 MM work area, but this newer model will probably see more use due to the simplicity of using it. I can literally cut and engrave the project simply by taking a photo of something, letting the AI in the app converted to a proper SVG file and then running it through the software. It does really work, and I'm fairly impressed with it even though I do not careful most AI programs. This is one case where is really helpful and very useful. I'm also grateful that they added support for my older Creality laser engraver and I was very easily able to run projects through this new software using it. I no longer have to rely on the open source software, they're really expensive software or anything else. I can simply run these using the included Falcon design space app using either my laptop or my smartphone. That's really amazing to me! As for the machine itself, it's well made and function perfectly. I've had no issues with it after running several projects through it. It cuts accurately, quickly and is extremely quiet while doing so. I already have a ventilation system for my other laser engraver and this one hooked into it simply and easily. I honestly do prefer this enclosed style rather than the large tent-like cover I have over my other laser engraver. This thing works, it's perfect for people interested in learning how to use an engraving tool like this or home Crafters who don't want to spend a lot of time learning how to operate sophisticated machinery running on CAD type software. If you have ever used a Cricut cutting machine, this machining works exactly like that and the software is nearly identical. This is highly recommended for beginners and people with very little technical skill with computer drawing and drafting. The simplicity of this machine and it's operation really make it a great place for someone to learn and become comfortable using a laser engraver. This would be a terrific addition to a homecraft studio and it's easy and functionality really make it a terrific value for the price. Really highly impressed with the simplicity of this system and the ease of creating a project using the new Falcon design space software.

The machine delivers strong engraving performance for a 10W diode system, especially on wood, leather, acrylic, and anodized aluminum. The CoreXY motion system provides fast and stable movement, allowing high‑speed engraving with good positional accuracy . The closed housing and integrated safety systems also stand out, giving it a more professional feel than typical open‑frame diode engravers and making it approachable for beginners and small shops. The built‑in camera and autofocus streamline alignment and setup, though calibration is required for consistent results. That being said, my material list shows that this engraver was supposed to arrive with a calibration card, yet that was no where to be found in the packaged materials. Build quality is generally solid, with a stable frame and minimal assembly required. The machine arrives nearly ready to use, reducing setup time to just a few minutes . However, areas like software reliability are a bit lacking. Falcon Design Space is simple but buggy, with limited features compared to LightBurn, and the included USB cable is notably short for practical workstation layouts. These issues do not prevent the machine from functioning well, but they reinforce the need for realistic expectations at this price point. Performance is strong for engraving but limited for cutting at speed. The 10W optical output handles detailed marking on a wide range of materials, yet thicker materials quickly reveal the limits of diode power. Cutting acrylic or hardwood requires slow passes, and the machine cannot match CO₂ or fiber systems for depth or speed, however those are much more expensive pieces of equipment. Even though the motion system can travel at very high speeds, the laser itself cannot engrave effectively at those speeds, meaning practical throughput is lower than the marketing numbers suggest. The engraving and scoring is precise with very good detail, but you will need patience. Initial connection to my phone wasn't quick, another issue with the software and marketing, it took several attempts and then I was met with the device requiring a firmware update; not a deal breaker but something to be aware of. Instructions are a bit lacking on assembly and removal of packaging, as you need to remove the laser head in order to remove a portion of the foam, which is not hard to do but it could lead to damage to the diode if not done. There is also foam under the bed that you will need to wait until the unit is powered so you can safely lift the bed to remove it. There is an intentional small divot in the right side of the laser sliding rail, which I assume is for setting the single thumb screw, but there is no mention of this in the provided documentation. No eye protection is provided with the unit, which is strange since I've received that with even the cheapest of engravers in the past... I'm assuming since the machine will not operate without the shield down for it's class 1 certification they believe this to be sufficient, however, you can disable this safety feature and it would be required to disable it on objects larger than the bed or while using a rotary tool for tumblers and such. Lasers are not toys and cause severe and permanent eye and skin damage, do not take safety lightly. Overall, this is a capable and well‑rounded engraver for users who prioritize precision, safety, and ease of use over raw cutting power. It offers a refined workflow, a stable mechanical platform, and reliable engraving quality across common materials. At the same time, the cost is high for a diode system, and the software quirks, camera calibration needs, and cutting limitations should be weighed carefully. For engraving‑focused work, especially in a small shop or hobby environment, it performs admirably. For heavier production or demanding cutting tasks, the limitations become more apparent. It's not a lightweight unit you can lug down to the market easily, it's more designed for stationary use. Realistically, we're above the price point for this unit at regular pricing as we're approaching the cost of much larger print beds with self-focusing and this is not a galvo, fixed laser source -- this is a gantry type. This is a very good unit, but 5 stars would imply a perfect unit and 3 would undermine it's genuinely strong engraving performance, safety and ease of use.

This is only my second engraver and represents a great step-up in terms of functionality, power and quality. Being fully enclosed with smoke extraction was a big plus for me. But perhaps the biggest attraction was going from a 3W laser to a 10W module, which allows for single pass and reasonably fast cutting of 3mm basswood. The work area is the same ballpark at 150mm x 150mm (~6" x 6"), although this unit offers far more headroom for taller materials. One potential downside with a fully enclosed unit is that larger items that extend beyond the cabinet size can't easily be accommodated, so I will likely hold on to my other unit for those use cases. The setup is very simple and the phone app connects quickly and easily to have you up and running in minutes. PC setup requires an initial USB connection just until Wi-Fi is configured. The software, Falcon Design Space, both on phone (Android) and PC, is relatively straightforward to use and understand, and certainly better than the manufacturer supplied tools on my other machine. Sure, it could be better and have more functionality, but that also introduces complexity. If you're a more advanced user, there is other software out there that is compatible. I was fully up and running with this machine in under 30 minutes, including unboxing, setup and software installation. I used a single design to test both engrave and cut. For initial cut I scaled down an intricate design to both 1/4 and 1/8 to test for detail cutting, and as you can see, the precision is excellent. Perhaps the biggest gotcha is the number of safety interlocks including power switch, emergency stop and safety key. There's also an interlock on the main door, although it can be disabled via the software so that larger-than-cabinet items can potentially be accommodated. Of course, in such cases, safety glasses would be needed to replace the filter of the main door. I still need to work more with the unit but my initial impressions are quite positive. I am a Creality fan and also own one of their 3D printers, so already have trust and familiarity with the brand. I'll update the review once I become more familiar but for now, I can't find much to complain about.

This Falcon A1C 10W laser engraver stands out immediately with its exceptional build quality and sleek, thoughtful enclosure. Having previously used the much larger Falcon2 Pro, the noticeably smaller desktop footprint here is a welcome change that makes the unit remarkably easy to handle and reposition. When managing smoke, strong odors, or fire safety during heavier jobs, the lightweight design allows you to easily transport the machine outdoors, plug it into a compact portable power station, and run jobs completely wire-free via its reliable Wi-Fi connectivity. In terms of performance, the engraving and cutting results on wood, leather, and acrylic are crisp, clean, and consistent. The 10W diode laser paired delivers sharp detail without sacrificing pace, and the motorized auto-focus mechanism is a huge time-saver that eliminates tedious manual height calibration. The fully enclosed Class 1 design also adds peace of mind when working on smaller indoor craft projects. The only real drawback with this specific base configuration is the lack of the built-in camera. While manual alignment works fine, having the AI camera included as a standard feature rather than a tier upgrade would make precision positioning and batch layouts much faster. Even so, for anyone looking for a capable, tidy, and truly portable laser engraver, the Falcon A1C delivers fantastic overall value and performance.

I have been waiting quite a while for an easy to use Laser engraver. I'm happy to report that for people who have no experience like me, this is a great way to start learning. This is a very compact system which is easily portable and placed pretty much anywhere. Unpacking it is straightforward With pretty much the unit and then a separate box of accessories to unpack. Getting it set up took really less than 20 minutes and the software that you can add to your phone makes it pretty simple. Getting Wi-Fi on it does require that you first hook it into a computer using the USB cord so be aware of that. I'm still learning how to do lots of materials but they give you a few examples and a few materials like wood to start with. Also it really does have an exhaust and there are fumes that come out of it. So make sure you put it somewhere that the fumes can be exhausted out of a window or you can purchase the accessory they sell. I Have made some really nice projects already and I am happy that this is really helping me learn how to engrave many different items.

I’ve used several different laser engravers, and I’ve been really impressed with the Falcon A1C! The enclosed Class 1 design is a huge plus for a home workspace, and the machine feels very polished and beginner-friendly without sacrificing the features I want for more involved projects. The AI one-tap engraving and positioning features make getting a project started incredibly easy, and engraving has been fast, clean, and detailed. I’ve used it across different materials and have been really happy with the consistency of the results. I also love the interchangeable laser platform because it gives me more flexibility as my projects change. The white enclosed design looks great sitting in my craft space, too. Whether you’re just getting into laser engraving or already have experience and want a convenient enclosed desktop machine, the Falcon A1C packs a lot into a compact setup.
