Love the Ender 5 Max
Set name: Ender-5 Max
I purchased my Ender 5 with an enclosure because I did not want my central HVAC system to Interfere with my printing tasks. The enclosure needs to be taller to prevent scuffing of the top plastic panel cover so I had to make a riser. The rear panel cover did start to get scuffed up. The Light works but it could be brighter or probably need another light which I did and attach to the riser I printed. I did buy a Nebula USB Camera and just stuck it inside the printer until I can find a good way to attach it. It's a much better camera than what Creality put in the K2 Plus. I also recently added small WYZE Cameras to all my printers so I could monitor them from a single screen on my phone or tablet but I will soon need to see more than 4 devices on my screen but it helps. I have only been using the Ender 5 for about 2 weeks so what it will do long term is yet to be determined. It's flat packed and quite heavy. Assembly was not difficult. I put it together by myself but it would have been easier if I had someone to help me. I just placed the base on a table and started assembling it after unpackaging it and sorting out all the components. I only plan on printing PLA and PETG with this printer. I have had no issues so far and I do have the vents open in the riser. The riser I printed added 6" to the height of my printer. The original riser was 1.25" tall and not high enough to prevent the Bowden Tube and Extruder Cable from rubbing so I just took it the the extreme which makes for plenty of openings for heat to escape. I have a Hygrometer Sensor in the enclosure and the Humidity has been holding at 10% with a temp of 86F which is 30C. The room the printer is in is 77F with 17% humidity. So far no problems but I know once the Humidity Season hits things will be much difference and I may have to add one or more exhaust fans to the enclosure. You might want to watch some assembly videos on YouTube to get an idea of what your getting yourself into. One person said the printer is too large for someone to have one in their house. Hey live alone so no big deal for me but it is quite a large unit and not a wife friendly unit for sure. If your not a patient person I would recommend getting another build plate. I know I need to buy a spare hot end because things do go wrong and it does not take long for the plastic to build up around a hot end during the beginning of a print which is why I always closely monitor my printers when they first start printing every printer I have owned I have had to remove plastic from around the extruder and its never fun which is why I have external cameras to help me monitor the printers. DO NOT Rely on a Printer with AI to stop when things go wrong its hit or miss especially with Creality Printers much like Autonyms driving in an EV might work and might not.

Don't Pass this up.
Set name: Ender-5 Max
If you get this make sure you get the encloser. I have had zero problems with this printer. I have put this printer through some hard hours and have had great results 100% of the time. Great prints even on huge prints and that is the reason I got this. Sometimes I need to make Prototypes or jigs that are larger than my other 5 printers. If I had to guess Creality built this printer as a workhorse and it didn't take off the way they wanted it to because it launched without an enclosure when everyone started launching with and people just side stepped it. This is a great printer for doing engineering single color projects. You can upgrade it to a multicolor printer via Co-Print but if you are looking to not just build swivel dragons or cosplay helmets that are multicolored I would give this a second thought. The bang for the buck and the reliability for me has been mind blowing. I am most likely going to get a couple more because they simply work and work well.. I have used PLA +, PETG, PETG CF, ASA, ABS, HT-PLA and I even ran Prusa's UL-Listed filament. I waited a while before making the review so I can see how she works and I love it for what it is. A work horse that prints quality every time.

Poor build quality, not worth the pain.
Set name: Ender-5 Max
I cannot recommend this printer. I was able to print a few wheels for a project before I noticed the finish was coming off the build plate. I then received a replacement, only to have several failed prints and discover that the bed is warped. Not the build plate, the bed. I'm trying to get this sorted out, and if something miraculous happens, I'll consider changing my review. But for now, do yourself a favor and stay well away.

It's not the greatest.

It... works most of the time. I think this is in serious need of a firmware update. Physically, it's fine when you home it in on the right settings. Everything else is software bugs, if be interested in the rooting option it has once I can find a custom firmware. The good... It prints as it should when it does... So long as you don't... -need to change filament -need to pause -need to stop immediately with an enclosure. -have a power outage and resume printing -forget to wipe the build plate with alcohol between every print. -to use the web interface AND the touch screen. (Used the web interface once and it now will not respond to the touchscreen at all, even with the pc off and after a software reset. Caution... This thing WILL forget bed leveling data and on a print resume, it will bury the print head into the build plate as it did with mine. After a filament change, it buried itself into a print to heat up and tried to extrude. After powering off to stop it, I removed the print and put the plate back in to start over, when I powered it back on it did the normal touch the build plate check, moved the plate down, xy check then went back to the center, but aggressively maxed out the z axis along the way and destroyed the build plate and the tip.

At one year, I am able to state that while the print qualite and build volume are adequate, the cost of maintenance must be considered. I purchased two of this from two different "sellers" and both consistently needed work. When you finally get them working they are okay but expect a high print fail rate. Also, if you go a few days between prints, that is when the problems will begin. Even after removing the filament and thoroughly cleaning everything prior to the down time, expect a total rebuild to begin using the machine again. This will include nozzles, hotends, extruders, and, bowden tubes. Also expect failures of stepper motors, hotend circuit boards, and print head cables. Recommended first prints, should include print head shrouds as they tend to shatter from the vibration, after a couple of prints the cracks become so bad the covers won't stay in place. Print volume is great, cost to operate is horrible.

Piece of garbage so far

Pros: Obviously wasn't designed by any. Cons: Probably the ones who designed it. My nonstick cookware sticks better than the bed on this thing. It hasn't been able to get past a filament change so double sized roles are needed. Shakes so bad it has already broken the casing on the extruder assembly. Creality presets are nothing but preset failure. Everything on it is loose and will get that way again soon after tightening. Replacement parts for it have so far been a no show. So far that's about the only thing good I can say about it.
