  • Works great with a good third-party slicer
The stock version of Cura and its slicing profiles don't really work. Find an invite to the CR-30 discord server. The reddit page probably has it. That's where the best support for this printer lives. Using the ideamaker profiles from the discord, I've gotten this to print PLA and TPU. The TPU adheres to the bed surprisingly well. Also, keep in mind that this isn't a good printer for beginners. The main two reasons to get this are either for the infinite z axis or for the continuous printing. If you don't want either of those features, you'd be better off getting something else. ... show more

  • Leveling is 50% guess work.
This printer prints good but getting the bed level is a pain. You can only set the z gap on one side and then guess the distance on the other side. But once filed in it prints good.

It only worked one day but I am going to get another one because I loved it and I have a project for it

  • Missing parts, bolt patterns didnt line up 1100 dollars on returning for a refund to order another
makers of this printer need to do stronger quality control of parts. Had to return it in the end Ordered the Ideaformer IR3 instead much better printer for less. glad i chose not to replace the cr30

  • Do not buy.
I bought mine directly from Creality and boy has it been a nightmare. In three months I’ve gotten a single print of very poor quality out of it. The rest of the time I’ve been tinkering with this boat anchor of a printer. I knew there was going to be more tinkering than with my Prusas but this is absurd. Do not buy. ... show more

  • User interface
The user interface looks the exact same as the Ideaformer IR3, and is total crap on that machine. It's one of my biggest complaints with the IR3. Its the kind of UI you'd expect from a $150 machine, not a $1,000
