Description

Creality 3D Technology Co., Ltd. focuses on the design, research, production of 3D printers and 3D printing related products. Consisting of professional researchers and skilled engineers, our R&D team constantly strives for creative function and excellent user experience. The R&D investments on 3d printing cover FDM/resin 3D printers, 3D scanners, filaments, resin, as well as 3D printed drones and robots that back up STEAM education. New one-shot 3D imaging technology makes scanning smooth even with shaky hands, dramatically increasing the scanning success rate. Built-in 2MP high-resolution color camera captures full-color 3D models, displaying the original colors and bringing every intricate detail to life. Without scanning spray, you can scan cars, car parts, tires, and other black objects to get the desired model effect. Using the most advanced WiFi6 high-speed wireless network, 3 times faster than WiFi5, it meets the transmission bandwidth required for high-precision scanning and improves transmission efficiency. Ferret Pro Ferret SE Ferret Otter 3D Otter Lite Raptor Raptor Pro Do all models in the Ferret series support mobile phone scanning? The Ferret SE does not support mobile phone scanning. The Ferret supports Android devices only. The Ferret Pro supports both Android and iOS devices (iPhone 11 and newer). Can the scanner scan small objects? It is recommended to scan objects from 15cm-200cm. If you have extensive experience in scanning and high-end equipments (PC or smart phones), you can try to scan such objects. What is the reason for losing tracking? The scanner or object moves too fast, causing the previously scanned frames failed to match the current frame. Move the scanner to a previously scanned area and keep it still for about 2 seconds to regain tracking. Does the scanner software work with AMD or Intel graphics? For the best performance, we recommend using an NVIDIA graphics card. AMD or Intel graphics may not work properly. Please check your computer's compatibility before purchasing. Why is the scanning effect not good? For your first scan, start with easy objects over 20cm, such as sculptures or teddy bears. Recommended settings: Object Mode, Middle Size, Texture Feature, Fast Mode, and Color Mapping.

  • Exceeded Expectations on Small, Detailed Scans – Perfect for Custom Prints
Size: Ferret Pro
I picked up the Ferret Pro mainly as my intro to 3d scanning, and honestly, it exceeded my expectations. I used it to scan a Rite in the Rain pen, which has some pretty fine detail and texture, and the results came out way better than I expected for something that size. It even picked up parts of the branding on the pen, which I didn’t think it would capture cleanly. The scan was detailed enough that I was able to 3D print a custom holder for my glasses, and the pen fits in it perfectly—better than before. That alone made it worth it for me. For a compact scanner, it handles small objects and fine surface detail really well as long as you take your time with it. Definitely impressed with what it can do. ... show more

  • Did Not Work as Expected + Expensive Return
Size: Ferret Pro
I bought the Creality 3D Scanner CR-Scan Ferret Pro to scan a small 2" x 6" plastic part and never got usable results. Scans were incomplete and inaccurate. Tracking often failed, and the anti-shake feature didn’t help. Face scanning worked somewhat, but it had major issues capturing hair. The software interface is confusing and not intuitive at all. When I returned it because it didn’t perform as advertised, $53.85 was deducted from my refund. Losing over $50 for returning a product that didn’t work properly is unacceptable. I do not recommend this scanner. Look for other options. ... show more

  • You have to start somewhere, and this is a good unit to start with. But don't expect miracles
Size: Ferret Pro
Due to its relatively low price and advertised features, the Creality CR-Scan Ferret Pro Scanner is the first 3D scanner that I have purchased and used. After watching five YouTube videos, I was convinced that it would be easy to use. I should have watched more. It didn't live up to my expectations. My first attempts at using the scanner and software were maddingly frustrating. It lost tracking in really strange ways. Several of the videos recommended using MeshMixer to "clean up" the scans before slicing. I found it even more frustrating because it lacks features that I needed. With that said, after two days of watching more videos and trying things, I'm beginning to get useful results using just the included software. I was able to make a decent 3D print of a small toy by slowing down and varying the placement of the scanner. Dimensionally, it was spot on. The software produced a usable SVG file that Cura sliced without error for my old SeeMeCNC delta printer. I am now convinced that it will be a very useful tool for scanning in the small parts that I want to replicate. But it will be a slower process than I expected and will not handle some things. My recommendations for newbies is to watch critical videos so that you understand the process and limitations of 3D scanning before you purchase a unit. From what I have gathered after the fact, the Ferret Pro is a very good scanner, especially for the price. The problems that I experienced are due more to physics and lack of understanding than to any faults of the scanner. The scanner is built very well, seems rugged, comfortable to hold and use, and should last well. The case is sturdy, the tripod is stable, and cables well marked. The instructions are minimal, but I was able to assemble correctly using them. The only design improvement I would like to see is a way to change the height of the scanner. The tripod is a fixed height unit. But a couple books solved that problem. ... show more

  • Pricing and quality
Size: Ferret Pro
Have been looking for a 3D camera for 3D printing that won't break the bank. This is a good quality entry level camera from a reputable company. There is a learning curve to get the pics right. Do yourself a favor and get a turntable and lighting setup for better photography. It will not have all the bells and whistles of the higher priced cameras but it also doesn't cost what those cameras cost. It is a good starting point for anyone needing 3D for cad/cam/3Dprinting. Just understand what you are buying. ... show more

  • Unusable due to (their) software issues (Mac)
Size: Ferret Pro
What a waste of time. Their own Creality Scan software (Mac) is incompatible with their own Ferret Pro scanner, so scans cannot be loaded onto the desktop for processing. Uploading a scan from the camera app on the desktop (via QR code) gets "The data format is not compatible with the current version of the software, please upgrade to the latest version and try again" - repeatedly - despite trying all the latest (Mac) versions V3.3.46 V3.3.42 V3.3.36 (laughably on their support site V3.3.42 is not even a .dmp but a .rar by mistake! - had to load V3.3.36 and upgrade from in there!) Not want to help debug their sw release/ versioning issues, thank goodness for Amazon returns. Scans themselves are somewhat clumsy, easily loses tracking - maybe be better with practice. Not sure if they were useable because... see above. To be honest, got much faster more useable results (auto parts) from a free app that uses the iPhone LiDAR. ... show more

  • I don't like it.
Size: Ferret Pro
Ok, I have had this for a long time now, over a year. I tried scanning my kids, my car, a roll of duct tape. I have watched all the tutorials on youtube and I can't get a SINGLE PRINTABLE SCAN. I have steady hands, a metric ton of markers, A turn table, 3d scan spray and 32gb ram with a 3070 gpu and 7tb storage, and on mobile I have 12gb ram, 512gb storage and snapdragon processor. It doesn't like to work, I don't want to take 45 min scanning something simple the size of my fist. I hate to give bad reviews. This was a good price so I tried it out. Not a fan. I know people that love this thing, but it's not for me. YMMV ... show more

  • Good Scanner
Size: Ferret Pro
Purchased for my husband to use with his 3D printers. We did have to upgrade laptop to one with more memory, but he is happy and enjoying. We have already scanned a figure a neighbor gave us and printed it out. Looked great. We are looking forward to incorporating this with our business.
