The CRAFTSMAN 10" Mini Chainsaw (V20) is an absolute workhorse in a compact size. I’ve used it for trimming branches, cutting small logs, and even cleaning up around my chicken tractors — it handles everything with ease. The saw has plenty of power for its size, and the V20 battery system delivers consistent performance without bogging down. It’s lightweight and perfectly balanced, which makes it easy to use one-handed when needed. The automatic chain oiling system works great, and the tool-free chain tensioning means I can tighten or adjust it on the fly. The included battery and charger are solid, and I usually get plenty of runtime for light-to-medium cutting tasks before needing a recharge. This is the perfect in-between tool — stronger than a pruning saw, but easier to handle than a full-size chainsaw. Ideal for property maintenance, firewood, or farm chores. Most landscape companies where I live come to mow, weed whack, remove seed pods, trim bushes, use blowers, and can charge up to $300+ to cut down medium size areca palm trees. Retired and like DIY projects. Enjoy watching tree trimming bloopers on Youtube. Teaches about using correct cuts, anticipating tree lean angle and using guide ropes. This chain saw has already paid for itself, though I’ll leave large trees to the professionals when needed. Set up and maintenance is easy- make sure to keep the lubricating oil level consistent, keep chain tension at 1/8”, disconnect the battery between cuts for safety, clean after each use, and file the saw teeth to maintain sharpness. Saw’s smaller size works well in tight spaces in between the areca trees. Rechargeable lithium battery has plenty of power for my jobs. Definitely use eye protection and my gloves with the left hand kevlar layer to avoid injuries. Also have a metal Oregon log saw horse fr Amazon- a great help to cut tree trunks into smaller pieces for the green waste bin.

This is an absolute must have, especially if you already have a bunch of Craftsman power tools/batteries. I have some trees on my property and this works great for trimming them and cutting up fallen branches etc. I didn't want to spend the money on a gas chainsaw since I wouldn't be using it a lot, and this is perfect for anyone who needs a chainsaw a handful of times a year. I'm able to cut through 6-8in thick branches with ease, and smaller branches cut like butter. Battery life varies based on how heavily you use it, I bought a couple larger batteries to use with it for larger jobs like the stick pile I have pictured below. The included battery is more than adequate if you're just using it for smaller trim/cutting jobs.

This saw is great for trees up to a ft. It is a great yard tool. I live on 6 acres and have small trees fall a lot. Never cut up more than one tree at a time so I can't comment on that but this saw makes things so much easier. My gas saws no matter how new, never start without a big hassle. Only down side... the chain falls off very easily, but after 3 or 4 times I knew what to look for it doing to stop the cut before it fell off... because that is anoyong. Also a plastic part broke on the chain cover, but craftsman replaced the part no questions asked. That alone is worth the purchase.

My stepfather worked in forestry until he retired a couple years ago so I know my way around a chainsaw and am familiar with what they can do. Gas powered saws have always been considered to be the tool for anything other than a small job since electric just don't have the power This could not have been more wrong. It might be the brand or modern electric saws are far superior to what they used to be. Either way, this thing has blown me away. And it's so quiet and doesn't smell so wins all around I got this to clear brush in my yard and found it light and easy to use (just a bit of chain oil and you're good to go). I figured out pretty quickly that the power this puts out and how sturdy it is as a whole made it's utility a lot more than expected. Before long I was cutting down full size trees. The bar is short compared to some professional saws but I'm not felling anything massive so whatever. Anything the bar reaches past, this thing will cut. I even recently used it inside to cut up old furniture to make it easier to dispose of. The fabric and stuffing of a couch cushion did knock the chain off but that was on me. I cleaned out all the balled up cotton, re-set the chain and was good to go again

I am so disappointed in this chainsaw. Craftsman used to be a brand name that one could trust. Of course that was then and this is now. I don't trust it anymore. The chain stopped cutting after trimming one anemic sapling! Dull like a spoon from my daughter's plastic kitchen! I ordered more chains, not from Craftsman, in the hopes of salvaging this purchase, but as the original chain kept coming lose despite several adjustments, I'm not holding out much hope. It's easy to assemble, easy to start but it is not a good value for the money. And I can't really speak about the battery life, as the chain kept giving me so many problems, I never actually used up the battery in one go.
