This little chainsaw is awesome for the correct use... You aren’t going to cut a years worth of hardwood firewood with this thing. It’s made for occasional trimming and clean up... great for pruning, limbing, and even opening up trails for an ATV or truck. There is no need to mix gas and oil and pull on a rope and exhaust yourself before you even start the job. With this saw you pop in a battery and it’s ready to go. Do yourself a favor if you can afford to and get the 9 amp hour battery pack for the longest run time. This saw is well designed and easy to use and perfect for small jobs. For example - pruning low limbs from trees, removing dead wood, cutting wood for a campfire or even trimming 4x4s when building a deck, fence, or small shed. It’s a great compliment to a gas saw, perfect when you only need to make a few fast cuts in smaller stuff. But don’t expect to completely replace a gas saw with it - the technology just isn’t there yet. The 4 amp battery will get you a handful of cuts. I didn't really want to buy a battery operated chainsaw but hubby said it was the best gift I've bought for him. The battery lasted about 45 minutes of moderate use. He had a spare from a different Craftsman product so that worked out. He likes this better than his gas chainsaw.

Works great for around the yard stuff like down limbs. Not for dropping big trees but is handy for around the yard or trail riding! Instead of having to crank your chainsaw every 50 yards to cut limbs! Just make sure you carry extra batteries!

This has been great for trail management, cleaning up hunting sites, sectioning up small trees for campfire wood, cutting low branches. The charge on a battery lasts a good while. It think the estimation of 60 cuts is accurate, though I wasn't counting the trees were cut. There were many. I suppose one could buy another battery if they need longer life, but I think the idea of this saw is for those quick little jobs here and there, not all day lumberjacking... ... show more

Got this chainsaw for grazing pasture maintenance. Use it to cut small cedars and some other small trees that may not be appropriate for silvopasture development. It is a lot easier to pack this little saw around that my Husqvarna 266, 24" bar gas saw. b Battery life is good enough for me. I have a 4 amp/hr and 5 amp/hr battery I take with me. I use canola oil for bar oil and the saw just doesn't seem to use much bar oil. Seems to use just enough to keep the chain lubricated. Hope it lasts. I love the little saw. ... show more
