I had thought the DIABLO 8" wood saw would work great on here, popped it on but realized it was real dangerous once it was alltogether. I love using the 4 or 5 inch metal cuttoff wheel fine, the problem is the larger diameter things create a danger of grabbing in somewhere and flipping around. I put a more complicated handle on as nothing was secure enough, just cut the inside square of a bmx bike handlebars giving a more of a regular secure chainsaw type of handle. Regular bots work fine, you can end up inadvertently loosening the post grips supplied by the CRAFTSMAN company. Locktite may help, I just find everything to be wrong with this type of handle, I put 3 on my corded version, still I need to create my own handle there too like a chainsaw would have, giving proper grip/leverage. No L.E.D. light, so this is great as I destroy them from my tools to avoid the permanent eye damage they always cause, they continue to be a problem in these tools but in all instances incandescent must be used for proper safety. ... show more

Love this thing :) It's very handy to have around. I've found it to last for quite some time before needing to swap out with a fresh battery. I mainly use it around the farm to cut through metal, sharpen blades, clean up nails and screws that poke through, and use it a lot while welding. Recommended

I am a woodworker and I have a love of tools that knows no bounds. As part of my woodworking, I have also done some carving. Large carving, where you are hogging out large chucks of wood, isn't easy or fun. The angle grinder is a tool that is designed to make this easier. I used it to hog out the bottom of a seat on a piece of oak and it did the job and did it well. It does go through juice, more on that in a minute. Separately, I am a Craftsman fan going way back to the days when you got them at a certain department store. Craftsman was Sears branded product that was essentially sold a couple years ago to Stanley Black and Decker. Although they did (do) not make all their tools, their products were uniformly excellent, well made and easily serviced. That excellence continues. So, mounting the heads on the grinder are easy, 4 1/2" heads that attached and are tightened using a spanner wrench. You can adjust the angle of the grind to suit you, but it worked fine for me right out of the box, comfortable in the hand. I was worried about it 'skating away' on the wood surface but I did not experience this problem. In fact, it did exactly what I'd hoped once I secured the material I was looking to resurface. The only negative is battery life and that's going to be a hard one to shake. if you only use the grinder to cut some piping, it is fine. But when I used other angle grinders (well, one other) they were plug in and tripped a circuit breaker once or twice with the amount of juice they drew. In this case, the battery does not last long enough. I don't know that this is an easy one to fix. If you are going to be working for awhile, you will want more than one battery (here, I'll save you the lookup: V20 20V MAX* 4.0AH Lithium Ion Battery) and know that this battery does not fit in other Craftsman chargers that I have, so more footprint for chargers. All in all, the grinder does exactly what I expected and does it well. The battery life is not long enough (I wore it out in may 20 mins of use, spread over a couple of hours) and set it to charging. I then used it again the next day and experienced similar performance. I took a star off the overall rating due to the battery but, again, given how much juice an angle grinder draws, this was to be expected. If you are looking for an angle grinder, one that is battery powered, this one is a solid performer. But bring more than one battery and...happy cutting! ... show more
