I gave this to my daughter for her 9th birthday! She was over the moon excited. It packs a lot of power into a small machine and is a bit louder compared to a traditional machine, but for a starter, it works. Everything came neatly organized with the exception of the missing manual. Nothing we couldn’t figure out with a little help from YouTube. I purchased this for my six year old granddaughter who wanted a sewing machine for Christmas. It is a well tooled sewing machine with great quality. However, expect to spend some time teaching the child on traditional sewing machine operations, such as using a bobbin and threading the machine.
